MUSIC BUG CLUB
Our aim is to introduce your child to music, probably one of the most rewarding experiences of his/her life, in a fun way. The children are encouraged to enjoy and appreciate music making in a non-competitive, non-pressurised way. The main objectives are to develop your child’s aural skills and prepare him/her for a life of instrumental playing & singing. The recorder is suitable for little fingers and progress is usually swift enough to give a good sense of satisfaction and achievement. It is inexpensive and the child’s interest can be assessed without the outlay of a costly instrument.

MUSIC BUG CLUB 2 (MBC 2)
Music Bug Club 2 is for children that have completed the Music Bug Club. MBC ‘graduates’ are in an ideal position to partake in this class since they already have the necessary materials including the recorder and books, and have the foundation knowledge of music to progress further. This class focuses on practical music making and MBC 2 students will continue to learn the recorder and will also be taught the ukulele. These instruments are ideal for smaller hands ensuring that a sense of achievement is felt by each student as progress is swift. In addition to developing as individual musicians, MBC 2 promotes ensemble playing and participating students will be given the opportunity to perform at several events during the course of the year. MBC 2 students will be encouraged to undergo certification accredited by the Royal Irish Academy of Music.
