Corey Dennis Loved the

game of football. He

wanted nothing more than

to be the high school

quarterback, but instead

he played wide receiver.

One day Corey decided that he was going

to play quarterback, so he went to talk to his

coach. He was extremely nervous, but he

knew it would be worth it, so he built up his

courage and walked into his office. As soon

as he walked in the door Corey said to his

coach, “I want to play quarterback.”

To Corey’s dismay, Coach told him,

“Sorry, but I just don't think you have the

tools to play quarterback.”

After Corey’s talk with Coach he was devas-

tated and told himself he would never play

football again. On his was home he stopped

at the park to think about what he would do

with his life. All of the sudden he heard a

voice “Hey kid, are you ok?”

To Corey’s amazement when he turned

around, Tom Brady was walking towards

him. After Corey told Tom what was wrong.

Tom told him about how he was the last

quarterback chosen in the NFL draft and

went on to win numerous of Super Bowls.

Tom also told him to never give up and if

things are important to you then you have to

believe and work hard.

After Corey’s talk with Tom he realize

that football was a game he loved and

how he could never quit. For the next

year Corey trained extremely hard and

worked out every day. Rain, sleet, or

snow, Corey was either in the weight

room or on the field throwing the

football because he knew he wanted to

be the quarterback.

When spring football practice came

around everyone was shocked at the

improvement Corey made. He was a new

person. His hard work had paid off.

Not only did Corey go on to earn the

starting position, he broke numerous

records as a senior, and was able to

achieve a childhood dream. Corey earned

a scholarship to play football at Georgia

Tech.
