Fults, Ill., was killed when a car in which he

was riding crashed into a tree and utility

pole near the intersection of State Route 163

and Eiler Road in St. Clair County around

5:30 a.m.

From newspaper:

Two Millstadt teens remained hospitalized

Monday after a single-vehicle accident

killed one passenger about 5:30 a.m.

Sunday.

Driver David Kernan, 18, and passenger

Jason Phillips, 18, were both airlifted to a

St. Louis hospital after the crash. The

families have asked the hospital not to

release their conditions.

Passenger Corey Buskirk, 20, of Fults, was

killed after the vehicle missed a turn on

Illinois 163 near Eiler Road and crashed

into a tree and a utility pole. Buskirk was

thrown from the car.

Well son, it's your 21st birthday today and I have to

look up to say happy birthday. I haven't gotten used to

you being gone and I don't think I ever will.

Everything in me wants to say that I hope your looking

down on everyone, smiling, and having everything that

you ever wanted for your birthday but all I really want

is to be able to say it to your sweet face, hold you and

never let you go. I've tried many times to write you a

note here but never did. Kind of like many times I

could have talked to you when you were here but I

didn't. The future was taken for granted and I never

thought in a trillion years that I would ever lose you

the way I did. I miss you so much and I think about

you all the time. I don't know if things will ever be the

same. I don't know if this emptiness that I feel will

ever go away. I keep reaching out for you and always

wind up with empty arms. Then at times I feel your

warmth come over me, I feel your arms around me and
