The Light Summer
Before we jump into learning how to wear all of the exciting colors in your palette... it’s im-portant to understand your overall coloring and how to wear your colors in general.
Your coloring is a light spring... which means that you have low contrast between your hair, skin and eyes. Your overall look is light and cool.
Your colors are light, bright and cool You’ll notice, in your color wheel, that there are no mut-ed or super dark colors. Muted colors will drain you of color.
If you want to look your BEST... keep your colors in low contrast. So... a medium pink blouse with medium grey pants would look very striking. A bright green top with jeans and a laven-dar scarf would be lovely on you. A medium teal t-shirt with dark jean shorts is perfect. Tops with low contrast patterns also look great on you.
Think light, bright and cool.
For the rest of this book, I will be breaking down your color palette into different color combi-nations that you can use to create amazing outfits. I’ve put most of your light summer colors into a color wheel. This shows you how your colors relate to each other.
Then, you’ll discover 4 different types of color combinations for you to refer to. They are com-plementary, analogous, triad and monochromatic. With each of these color combinations, I’ve provided color inspired outfits that will help you learn how to apply these exciting color com-binations into professionally styled outfits! How fun!
I highly recommend you use this color guide as a tool. When you want to change things up and you’re not sure what else you can do... refer back to your color wheel. Say you bought a pretty green sweater that’s in your light spring color palette... refer to the color combinations that have that green and be inspired to try something new! Maybe it’s layering a red plaid blouse under the sweater... or wrapping a coral scarf around your neck... you’ve got lots of creative options!

The Light Sumer Color Wheel
OutfitIdeas4You.com 3 Jennifer Thoden
Your light summer color wheel is fairly heavy on the cool side. Notice that all your colors are bright and light.
In the center are 2 of your neutral base colors that will go with any of your outfits. They are medium grey and taupe. You don’t need to count these as a color when combining colors. They are your base or backdrop to display your colors. They are also perfect for your shoes, bags and jackets.
Gold and silver jewelry look great on you.
Complementary Color Combinations
Complementary color combinations are colors that are opposite each other on the color wheel. The complement to red, for example, is green.
You would typically choose this type of color combo when you want a dynamic and energized look. Pairing 2 colors that are opposite on the color wheel is not exactly a calming look.
Light summers only have 2 possible combinations. This is because Light Summers look better in calmer color combinations.
To wear a complementary color combination successfully, choose one color as your main color and accessorize with the second color.

Triad Color Combinations
Light Summer Color and Style Guide

Triad color combinations use 3 colors in the shape of a triangle on the color wheel. Red, blue and yellow would be a typical triad color combo. Your clear deep autumn wheel is slightly different from the standard color wheel, so you’ll notice that red is combined with a yellow-green and blue.
Triad color combos are a bit more complex and interesting than a complementary color combination because you’re using 3 colors. This is still a pretty dynamic col-or combo but not as dynamic as a complementary color combo.
Light summers only have 3 possible combinations and two of them only have 2 colors. This is because your colors are almost all on one side of the color wheel.
To pull together a successful triad color combo, choose one color as your main color and then accessorize with the other 2 colors. An even distribution of three colors may appear a bit clowny.

Analogous Color Combinations

An analogous color combination is a much calmer color combo compared to a complementary color combo or a triad color combo. An analogous color combo uses colors that are directly next to each other on the color wheel.
Light Summers look amazing in analogous color combos. In fact, for you, the anal-ogous color combinations give you more “wow!” looks.
The result is a unique, polished and elegant look. Not too many people know how to pull this look off... but YOU will! You’re going to hear people say, “I never thought to put those colors together!” You’re going to look amazing.

Monochromatic Color Combinations

A monochromatic color combination includes shades of one color. This can be a very stylish look. You would wear a monochromatic look when wanting to appear uniform, quiet and sophisticated. My personality always wants to throw in a pop of a complementary color but a monochromatic look says “I’m in control. I’m elegant. I don’t need much to look stylish.”
