If you have trouble using your computer, most software has a help tool for you to use.

Press the F1 function key or click on ‘Help’ in the top menu bar.

There is also a help tool for Windows. 

Click on the Windows Start button to open the menu.

Then type ‘help’ in the search bar, and click on ‘Help and support’ in the results pane.

You can browse the tips and explanations and click on any links in the text to find out more.

Use the forward, back and home buttons to get from place to place.

Enter some key words or describe what you want to do, such as:‘remove USB drive’ or ‘add a shortcut to the desktop’

You can also get help with hardware problems.

Search for ‘Find and fix problems’ in the Windows Start menu search bar.

‘Find and Fix Problems’ can help if your computer doesn’t work as it should.

Select the category for your problem, such as ‘Network and Internet’, then choose a link that best describes your problem.

The tool will take you through a few steps to try and find the source of your problem.

You can also find answers on the Internet. Type the name of your software or problem, and then ‘help’.  

For example, try ‘windows desktop help’ if you are having trouble managing the icons on your desktop.

Then click to find sites that may give you the answers you need.
