SUMMARY
As a lifelong learner, my experience has ran the gamut of
education. I started out as a substitute teacher in the Kansas
City, Missouri School District teaching students computer
applications. At that time, I fell in love with technology and began
to spend more of my free time learning new applications. I
returned to school to finish my bachelor’s degree. Once the
degree was completed, I started working as a transportation
coordinator for a company called Meridian IQ. In this position, I
learned how to schedule shipments for fortune 500 companies via
air, truck and sea. I enjoyed learning about shipping but yearned
to learn more about technology. I then started working as a
teaching assistant with special needs students. I taught students
how to handle their overwhelming feelings and was also the
website administrator for the school. In my free time, I became a
website administrator for Park Hill South High School. In three
short years, the website was ranked number 62 throughout the
country of high school sites and had over 1 million hits
www.ihigh.com/phs . I created videos, wrote articles, and took
pictures for the site on a voluntary basis. A company called
Amateur Sports Network noticed my work and hired me to do the

EXPERIENCE
Teacher Assistant, Russell Jones Education CenterKansas City, MO— 2009-Present
Teacher Assistant in a day treatment facility at the Russell Jones
Education Center in the Park Hill School District. The district is
located on the northwest side of Kansas City, Missouri and has
over 10,000 students. The Russell Jones Education Center has
40 students that range in grades K-12 with mental health needs
who are exhibiting problematic behaviors. I directly work with the
middle school students. The students receive a heavy dose of
therapy and are slowly transitioned back to their home schools
once strategies have been put in place to help the students deal
with their overwhelming feelings. In my class, there are seven
students; 2 eighth graders, 1 seventh grader, and 4 sixth graders.
Also, there are 2 teaching assistants (including myself) and 1
teacher. One of our students requires his own personal room so
all three of us take turns teaching him directly while the other 2
teach the remaining students.
