Getting Ready toWrite

This Module guides you in the preparation for yourCopywriting Projects. It includes a slideshow andChecklists to appropriately manage your project. In order to properly prepare for a Project you must askcertain questions, gather facts and organise yourinformation. This module guides you in this process.

Getting Work as aFreelancerThis Module covers all the aspects you need to know inorder to start your career as a Freelance Copywriter. TheModule includes a Slideshow and a Book List. According to the Writers Bureau, ‘Promotional copywriting is designed to generate and increaseinterest in a product or idea using persuasive language. The aim of the copy is to persuade the viewer,

listener or reader to act, i.e. to buy a product or adopt a different viewpoint’.Copywriters, these days, are however also very much involved in the Blogosphere and they are happilyapplying their creative skills in setting up and crafting text for Blogs (and websites) and also crafting

copy for social media platforms, such as Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. This kind of material may, bytheir very nature not necessarily be for promotional purposes only. In cases where copywriters are

crafting text for blogs, websites and social media platforms, they can be referred to as content writersand they may be heavily involved in content marketing. So what is a Copywriter?
