IMPORTANT NUMBERS Harris County for our DBA (doing business as). We also filed with the State of Texas for our Formation of Incorporation as a non-profit entity. TX file# 0800794643 Copperfield Coalition supports “Smart Growth”. We encourage residents and businesses to learn about what options they have and how they can become involved in the process.

WHY US? The individual Homeowner Associations for the seven Villages of Copperfield and the Copperfield Community Association differ from the Copperfield Coalition in their ability to address and manage residential and business concerns. The HOAs and the CCA are chartered to manage the various contracts and enforce architectural guidelines, deed restrictions, waste/recycling, management, and crime watch. The CCA maintains the common area as far as landscaping, maintenance and any needed repairs. We are a grassroots organization formed to address the smart growth of the Copperfield area. We have the ability to address concerns that may require political and adjoining communities' involvement/engagement to address residential and business concerns that are NOT within the charter of the HOAs and/or the CCA.

We take on projects that will protect Copperfield and the surrounding area, stop unwanted construction and/or alterations that will affect all of us. We work with politicians and government officials to make improvements in and around our community to enhance our quality of life and protect our property values. We disseminate information via our website, press releases, and email blasts to local residents and businesses. We realize the importance of having residents bring any and all concerns they may have first to their individual HOA. When the individual HOA or CCA cannot resolve the issue, then the Copperfield Coalition is here to help you! Copperfield Coalition members are comprised of all volunteers. No one receives any compensation for their participation.

CYPRESS FALLS HIGH SCHOOL CHOIR NEWS August found us back in school and busy with choir! Welcome back students and greetings to all our choir friends and family! We loved seeing all your happy faces at orientation. All your thoughts and questions are important to us and your positive attitude is always contagious. Our first fundraiser was met enthusiastically and we thank all of you that participated in helping us reach our goals. Our ice cream social on September first was a blast. THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS as this would not have happened without you. The students had a blast mingling and getting to know new faces. And who doesn’t like ice cream!!!??? Attention Parents: the first parent meeting will be September 6th at 7pm in the choir room. You will meet the board, welcome our new assistant choir director, and find out all the choir has is store for the 2011-1012 school year. As always, questions are not only welcomed, but encouraged. Flyers will be sent home regarding this, the parents are our backbone and we highly depend on your support.

Men’s choir will be having their cook out on the 9th, yum! Grillin’ and chillin’ will be the plan. The Texas Music Educators Association participants will be photographed in September. This is quite an honor, and we are proud of our participants. They will travel to the TMEA conference site and perform for this esteemed gathering. Your student will bring home information on this. Our Fall concert will be October 11th. Mark your calendars now! It will be a melodic event not to be missed! October 18th finds us back at school in the commons celebrating with music, Italian food and an auction. Please consider donating items to the choir for the auction. This can be a gift card from your business, a basket of goodies promoting your store, luxury services such as maid service, massages, and pampering time. It’s a good way to help out as well as advertise your business. More good times are on their way, stay tuned for more information. There are always fun, harmonious times with Cy Falls choir!

COPPERFIELD COURIERLCHS Cheerleaders

Langham Creek Cheerleading is in full swing and we have some exciting news - we want to welcome our new Junior Varsity coach, Ms. Anne Lee! Coach Lee will be joining our veteran Varsity coach, Ms. Kristen Schulze, in putting together another fantastic year of cheer for our Lobos! Welcome, Coach Lee! We are thrilled to have you as part of the Lobo Family! The Lobo cheerleaders attended a tough, but fun filled Cheer Camp August 1 - 3rd at Cypress Academy. They had a great time and learned a lot that they will be showing off on the field this fall! Several of our girls walked away with awards. Winning the "You Rock" award were Nelly Mendoza, Madison Baldwin, Kelsey McAbee, and Amber Perkins. The following girls tried out for, and were awarded, the title of All American Cheerleader: Melissa Martinez, Payton Suchon, Lauranda Nall, Paige McGrath, and Alyssa Miller.

Congratulations, Girls! On August 13th, the cheerleaders worked several areas at the Freshman Orientation and hosted pep rallies welcoming the Freshmen to Lobo life. This was the first time pep rallies were held at Freshman Orientation and they were a hit! Continuing in their service to the school, the cheerleaders dished up a fun after school treat for the Langham Creek teachers on August 29th. They hosted a coke float social! Yes, it was a bit messy, but delicious, and enjoyed by all. HEB generously donated all the ice cream and dry ice for the event. Thank you to our friends at HEB for helping us show our teachers how much they are appreciated. Next on the cheerleaders' agenda is their Homecoming "Let It Roll" extravaganza to be held on Saturday, October 1st, from 8:30 - 11:30 pm at the Berry Center. Ticket sales will start September 20th during all lunches. Thank you cheerleaders for your tireless efforts in supporting your school and community. Go Lobos!

LCHS Cheer Clinic The Lobo Cheerleaders will be hosting their annual Cheer Clinic on Saturday, October 15th, from 9 am - 12:30 pm at Langham Creek High School. All boys and girls ages 4 through high school are welcome to come take a picture with our mascot, get instruction on jumps, cheers, dance, and tumbling, enjoy a snack and take home a megaphone and certificate of completion!! All participants are invited to perform on the field at half time during the LCHS football game on October 19th at 7 pm!! Also take part in our exciting raffle ($5) for gift cards, cheer instructions and more! Pre-registration is going on now - $30 or $35 with t-shirt ($35.00/$40.00 at the door). Registration payment must be received by Friday, October 14, 2011. Please make checks payable to: Langham Creek Cheerleader Booster Club. Mailing address : LCHS Booster Club, 17610 FM 529, Houston, Tx 77095. Please contact Cindy McAbee at [email protected], or 281-345-6384, with any questions, or to obtain a registration form.

MENTOR ONE CHILDChange Two Lives

CROSSROADS: Community Partnership for Youth Inc. (CROSSROADS), a United Way agency, provides mentoring for youth involved with the Harris County Juvenile Probation Department. These youth are in need of caring adults who can serve as mentors to provide encouragement and guidance. With thousands in the juvenile justice system, the need for mentors is growing.

Mentors must be at least 21 years of age, commit to 1 hour each week and attend a training and orientation session. There are many sites, areas (Katy, Clear Lake, Chimney Rock/Bellaire, and Downtown) and available times of the week for mentors to meet with their assigned child. Volunteers mentor boys and girls that are placed in facilities by the juvenile probation department and who are in desperate need of a positive role model.

The program is very simple, flexible and especially beneficially to both the youth and the mentor. Please consider devoting just one hour a week to the future of a needy and hurting child (10 -17 yrs. old). Many times you may be the only positive role model in their lives! The mission of CROSSROADS is to prevent or reduce youth involvement with the juvenile justice system by fostering positive relationships between youth and volunteers. CROSSROADS is symbolic of where the youth we serve are standing - at a critical point in time in their lives.

For more information you may contact us at 713-295-2779or visit our website at www.crossroads-volunteers.org.
