ITINERARYLocated on Sweden's beautiful west coast, The Gothia Cup is an international soccer tournament that since itsbeginning in 1975 has grown to over 1,500 teams representing more than 70 countries. The opening ceremony at UlleviStadium attracts 50,000 spectators and international soccer participants, while 1,100 volunteers guarantee that this willremain the international soccer tournament of all international soccer tournaments! First-class international soccercompetition on first-class soccer fields is only part of this great festive week.

DAY 2 Saturday, 14 July 2018Our 24-hour Tour Director will meet us at the airport and remain with us until our final airportdeparture.Our private coach and driver will transfer us to our Copenhagen area hotel. We will have useof our coach for all transfers, touring and soccer content as required throughout.Copenhagen is a place of contrasts; this cobblestone city has been Denmak's capital for over1000 years and is home to the world's oldest monarchy. Yet modern Copenhagen is asurprisingly cosmopolitan city of cutting-edge fashion and design and striking modernarchitecture.For the next evening, we will enjoy the convenience of our centrally-located Copenhagenhotel, where daily breakfast and dinner will be included.We begin with a welcome meeting and orientation. Afterwards, enjoy free time to explore thearea around the hotel.NYHAVN BOAT TOURTake a Boat Tour around the harbor and through the idyllic canals where a guide will tell usabout Copenhagen's beautiful churches, castles, old listed houses, new buildings and all othersights of interest. The tour departs from Nyhavn and passes some of Copenhagens bestsights and attractions including the Little Mermaid statue, a Copenhagen symbol.Tonight we will have dinner in the hotel restaurant.This evening will be free to enjoy social activities around the hotel area.

DAY 3 Sunday, 15 July 2018This morning we will have breakfast at the hotel.CITY TOURWe will take a City Tour of Copenhagen by bus and foot. Highlights will include:Rådhuspladsen (Town Hall Square) to view the bronze statue of Hans Christian Andersen;Lavendelstræde; Slutterigade; Nytorv; Strøget, a stroller's and a shopper's delight;Helligåndskirken (Church of the Holy Ghost); Kongens Nytorv, which surrounds Copenhagen'slargest square, with an equestrian statue of Christian IV in the center; Nikolaj Kirke;Christiansborg Palace; the Thorvaldsens Museum; Gammel Strand; Snaregade; Magstræde;and Tivoli Gardens.You will have some free time to explore the area.This afternoon we will transfer to the Gothenburg area.

Situated by the Kattegat, on the west coastof Sweden, the city grew in prominence after 1731 when the Swedish East India Companywas founded, and the city flourished due to its foreign trade with highly profitable commercialexpeditions to China.For the next six evenings we will enjoy the convenience of our centrally-located Gothenburghotel, where daily breakfast and dinner will be included.We begin with a welcome meeting and orientation. DAY 4 Monday, 16 July 2018This morning we will have breakfast at the hotel.Today we will transfer to the Gothia Cup.GOTHIA CUP The Gothia Heden Center is the heart of the Gothia Cup. Here we will find the CentralInformation building, the tournament's headquarters during the week. Heden Center in theheart of Göteborg is centrally located within walking distance from Nya Ullevi (openingceremony arena) and the main boulevard Avenyn. Heden is a storied place in the Swedishfootball. It was namely here that the first football game in Swedish territory was played. Theyear was 1892 and the match was between Örgryte IS and IS lyckans Soldater. In theGothia Heden Center there will be a large event and exhibition area where our partnersarrange fun activities and contests. You will also find souvenirs, food court, and Taste theWorld here!FIRST ROUND MATCHESWe will play a first round Match against a team. The team will meet and compete againstathletes of similar ages and skill levels, and have the opportunity to make friends for life. Thematch is central during the Gothia Cup. It is the reason why you are here. In total 4,000matches are being played during the week. Almost 100 fields are required and all regularmatches are being played on natural grass or artificial turf. The statistics show that about halfof the matches in the boys' categories are being played between teams from differentcountries. For the girls the corresponding number is approximately 25%. The 500 refereesthat are engaged during the Gothia Cup week are indispensable for the tournament and theyare recruited from all over Sweden.Tonight we will have dinner in the hotel restaurant.GOTHIA CUP OPENING CEREMONYTonight we will attend the Gothia Opening Ceremony, which celebrates harmony andfellowship. Similar to an Olympic ceremony the atmosphere surrounding the opening of theGothia Cup is electric, enough to make you shiver with excitement. It's a memory you'llremember and smile at for the rest of your life.
