My experience, and how I began to look at the world with purpose, and a different view.

HOW MUCH DID COORS FIELD COST? HOW LONG DID IT TAKE TO BUILD?

• $464 million dollars to build (which was $300 back in the 90s)

• Started construction of the field October 16, 1992, the field opened April 26, 1995

WHO IS INVOLVED WITH COORS?

• Aramark is the concession vendor

• Rockies play here and are sponsored

• MapQuest has a partner in Coors, they give interactive tours of the stadium

• Many ticket partners like SeatGeek, GrubHub, and others

IMPACT OF COORS FIELD

• Housing in the area nearly doubled within a year of the field being completed

• City officials predicted that it brings in an estimated $195 million to the economy in the area, which is twice of what they originally predicted

• The Arizona Diamonds stadium was modeled off the Rockies stadium but it didn't’t bring in half of the success

LOCAL BUSINESSES

• Many local businesses are benefited by the tourists that are attracted to LoDo and Coors Field

• Before the building of the field the area was very “sketchy” and not well developed

• After Coors field was built the area grew economically and culturally

• The LoDo neighborhood has took a total 180 since the 90s

ARCHITECTURE

• Incorporated the “mile high city” into the structure

• Fits into its surroundings incredibly well

• People think that the red brick on the exterior is really suiting

• Intimacy is a major factor of the field

• Some people complain about not being able to view the mountains from their seats

• Some reviews have said that the sunsets are gorgeous when the mountains are visible

• Architects say that it looked like it has been in the neighborhood since day one

WHAT WORKED

• The main technique that I looked to was definitely the internet

• We had the opportunity to ask the Coors representative but I felt like I didn’t want to impose so many questions on him, which in the long run I may regret

• Being able to sit down and research for a long period of time and to not lose focus

• Looking at things more in depth • Researching questions that would fulfill my needs

and requirements • Staying organized

WHAT DIDN’T WORK

• Looking up a broad question online

• Not being consistent with the information

• Losing focus early on • Not correctly asking questions• Not asking the “right” questions • Not having reliable resources

Lastly, being able to study Coors Field has been a very interesting learning experience. I have taken so much away from this project and have really started looking at things from a 360 point of view. I am so glad I am in Lights Academy and am excited to see what else this year has in store.

My overall experience
