Content
Transformation of CoordinatesIn order to transform from local coordinates to the
national coordinates:
Traverse Surveying
Purpose of the surveying:
• Property surveys to establish boundaries
• Location and construction layout surveys for highways, railways and other works
• Providing ground control points for photogrammetric mapping
Types of Traverse
Types of Traverse
• Open traverse: starts at known point and ends with unknown one.
Types of Traverse
Types of Traverse
• Closed traverse: starts at known point and ends with unknown one.
Choice of Traverse
• As close as possible to the details
• Distances shall be equal between stations
• Insure durability of stations
• No sight obstructions
Traverse Computations
Error Correction
To do so, two corrections are required:
1. Angle Correction
2. Position Correction
