The Minnesota Nurses Association (MNA) have had a rough time with Allina Health with money. The primary debate for why the MNA were on strike is about health benefits, specifically the nurses union's exclusive health insurance plans. Allina insists on shifting the nurses into the same corporate plans offered to its other employees. International News

At 2:20 pm Queensland time on Tuesday, a tragedy occurred at the Dreamworld amusement park in Australia. This theme park is the largest in Australia, boasting 210 acres but unfortunately the worst of the worst happened at the massive place. On a ride called the “Thunder River Rapids” four people met with fate in an unexpected and unfortunate end. Although names have not been disclosed, it is known that there were two men and two women whose ages all ranged from 32 to 42. Although not exactly what is known to have caused the demise of these ride-goers, the park has released a statement saying that a malfunction of the ride caused the incident. Also unclear is how the people died but it is speculated that two people were thrown off the circular raft and the two others became trapped underneath. Currently the situation is being investigated, and whether or not charges shall be pressed is pending.

Randomly Interesting

Mandela Effect

World War Three Conspiracy

What is the Mandela Effect? The Mandela Effect has been around for a long time. It’s when someone or a large group of people have a very clear memory of something happening or being spelled a certain way when in reality, it never happened. A lot of times, many strangers have the same exact details and the same event that happened in the past. The Mandela effect got its name from Nelson Mandela. A lot of people had the same memory of Nelson Mandela’s death that never happened like their memory.

What do you think Curious George looks like? Did you say he’s short, brown, and has a tail? Well, many people believe that too, but he actually never had a tail. Some say they can picture him with and without a tail. This is called a dual memory. Many can see him hanging from a tree by his tail but that never happened.

World War One occurred no less than 100 years ago in Eastern Europe. World War Two happened just 15 years later- again, in Eastern Europe. Nearly fifty years have passed, but, as many of you may know, recent conflicts now suggest that World War Three may be coming- in nuclear style. North Korea, Russia, Iraq; just a few countries whom may be responsible for the third WW.

Recent rumors point to the possibility of North Korea starting new nuclear developments. Ever since the succession of Kim-Jung-un, Kim has conducted multiple experiments concerning the nuclear world. As a precaution, the US has deployed the THAAD in South Korea’s northern border, a machine capable of shooting missiles distances greater than 200 km. Hopefully, this will forewarn the North to keep any nuclear threats to themselves- and any conflict to a minimum.

Along the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, Syria also, has potential to ignite WW3. With the civil war within the borders of Syria, the population lies upon a unwinding string. Nearly 1.6 million refugees and

93,000 deaths have occurred to due to the war. And to add, the conflict between the Sunni and Shia ideologies of Muslim have been rising, leaking out across the Middle East. The government, alarmed at the rapid rise of conflict attempted to control the situation, but only made things worse.

You would think that this last one is probably the most likely to start WW3, and it just might be, for good or for worse. Bordered by the tropical Pacific Ocean and the hurricane-infested Atlantic Ocean, the United States is most likely to start/impact the third World War. Has Japan ever given formal forgiveness for what the U.S did to Hiroshima and Nagasaki? Did Russia not just hack the White House recently? The U.S is a presiding member of NATO and the U.N, and thus we have made decisions and choices that impact the world. The Second World War and the Cold War are proof of the grudges that many countries hold against us- and those grudges can only grow, or die completely.

It’s been nearly seventy-five years since the nuclear bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Will we last another seventy-five years before another World War breaks out? Thanks for reading.

Entertainment

Are Esports Really a Sport?By Ryan Wolfe (8)

The NBA 2016 Preseason By Joseph Plueger (8)

Are Esports really a sport? All you do is play a game and stare at a screen. Pretty much the only exercise you get is moving your thumbs. Well those people are wrong! Esports is a real sport and there is all kinds of proof to prove it is a real sport. We know that chess and poker are real sports by using mental stability. So why can't we call Esports a real sport? You use mental activity when you play games. We know part of the definition of sport has to deal with entertainment of people and have skill. Well playing a game does require a skill and it entertains people. The skills you need to be a Esport player is you need

a lot of ‘’time to develop skills and they need to know the core of the game, get used to character and environment changes, and know balanced sways to old maps,’’ according to factmyth.com. Even the U.S government calls it a real sport. Also ‘’Organizations are investing more and more into “team houses” where the entire team can live and play under one roof. The main goal of these team houses is to increase team chemistry by turning teammates into real life friends because out of game relationships within the team directly affect how they play in big moments.’’ Also states factmyth.com of the article of Esports are real sports. Another thing is that you have to eat healthy, get enough sleep, and practice a lot. Even issues get involved with esports. So Esports have all the fundamentals to be a sport. Now do you believe me? And when your Mom screams at you to clean your room while you are on your computer just say you're busy playing a sport.

Curry and the Warriors, Lebron and the Cavaliers, James Harden and the Rockets. There have been many different thoughts on what team would win the 2016 NBA preseason. But there are so many teams doing good lately that it’s hard to tell who is going to make it far this year. Every team has had their ups and downs, and no one is undefeated anymore. There are some very high win streaks taking place right now, like the Warriors, being on a six game win streak currently. Some other teams playing well include the Celtics, Hawks, Warriors, and the Rockets who pulled the longest time being undefeated.

Also, the Timberwolves are making us proud so far with five wins and two losses. So overall, we can’t really predict who is definitely going to make it to the playoffs except for probably the Warriors who now have the splash family with Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Kevin Durant. There are a lot of dominating players and a lot of dominating teams, so all we can do is wait.

If Halloween and trick or treating is not your thing but you still want to have fun with your friends. He tries to get her attention and it takes him a while to figure out why he could not get her attention. Just for Fun

Embarrassing Moments

Welcome to embarrassing moments. These are a couple embarrassing moments from students at CRMS. Hope you enjoy these cringe worthy stories.

“I sometimes sing when I go to my classes and once I didn't realize I was singing out loud. Everyone was looking at me for singing. After that I was embarrassed to walk in the halls.” -Ella Michel (7th grade)

“When my family and I went to Canada we stopped at Grand Marais on the way back. I went to the bathroom and my brother was waiting for me outside. He hid behind the corner and jumped out to scare me. I got scared and I jumped back and fell on my back. Many people laughed and my family will never let me live that down.” -Anonymous (7th grade)

Hope you enjoyed these embarrassing moments. See you next issue!

Battle of the Books By Ella Michel (7)

Did you know the battle of the books started in 1988? B.O.B also short for battle of the books was created by Jean and she started it from Chicago to around the U.S.A and is still going on. The battle of the books is perfect for people who like competition or just love reading alot . Although the battle of the books is popular in America it is involved in other countries and it's not just schools that are doing it there is a America´s battle of the books with people all around the U.S.A test each other to see who knew more about the book. Even though the school's battle of the books isn't as complex as the America´s battle, It's still fun with teams battling other different teams in the school to having one winner in each school and they battle other schools but it isn't easy as you think

people's teams has to read 25 of the books and make notes about every single book but some people just wing it and doesn't write notes which is alright to. So even though it's tough to read all those books its really fun and a big part of the school and I hope CRMS wins this year!
