Millionaire's Shortbread Preparation Time - 40 mins Cooking Time - 20 mins. Chilling Time - 2-6 hours ________________________________________________________________ Ingredients For the shortbread base: 150g self raising flour 50g caster sugar 100g margarine For the caramel: 100g margarine 100g caster sugar 200g condensed milk 2 tablespoons golden syrup For the topping: 100g dark or milk chocolate Method 1. Grease a 28cmx18cm Swiss roll tin. 2. Cream together the margarine and sugar, then mix in the flour and spread it onto the base of the tin. 3. Bake in a pre-heated oven (180C) for 20 minutes and then cool in the tin. 4. To make the toffee, melt the margarine, sugar, syrup and condensed milk in a sauce pan and cook gently, always stirring until the mixture leaves the sides (be careful not to burn it). 5. Pour the toffee over the cooled shortbread and leave to cool and set. 6. Once set melt the chocolate and spread over the toffee, put in the fridge to set.
