The children were all dressed in their best clothes and looking really sharp and the fundraising committee treated them and the staff to a fantastic meal. The children then put on items for their parents, which included a slideshow of photos of them over the years. The children had brainstormed positive com- ments about each other and they were read out and then they were presented with a dictionary. The evening ended with supper. Thanks to our awesome fundraising group for making this an evening to remem- ber. I loved it, I had never been to such a fancy party before. The table dec- orations, the drinks, the food were all presented so well. Charlotte It was fancy and very Motupipi like, as there were lots of shells. Abbegail I thought it was odd that they served wine, but then I realized it was sparkling grapejuice in the wineglasses. Josephine The evening was very flash. I really liked looking at all the photos of us when we were little at Motupipi . Emergency Rescue Helicopter Ride - By Guy Room 5 I was packing up my tent when I stood on a bee and got stung on my toe. I was stung a couple

of weeks before and it didn’t really bother me. After a couple of minutes my thigh started to

really hurt. Luckily Johanna Howard was on camp with us, so she checked me out. She noticed

a red rash on both my thighs and I started to get tight in the chest and around my throat. I

felt really awful. I was given antihistamines and then a jab of adrenaline, which made things easier.

It was decided to call a helicopter just in case it got worse. The paramedics on the chopper took over and looked after me.

The ride was fun as I could sit up and I was feeling a bit better. Mr Cullen got the best view because he was in the front

seat and we were both trying to spot deer, but no luck.

I was kept in hospital for 4 hours for observation and then released, feeling tired, but a lot better.

I was really pleased that it happened at the end of camp and not at the beginning.

I’m trying to wear shoes now on the grass but it is hard. I now carry an epipen with me just in case it happens again.

School Camps

We have had a great couple of weeks of camp and they have all gone off particularly well with the

children all having lots of different experiences. One of the reasons why they

have gone so well is that we are blessed with so many supportive parents who are

so willing to give of their time.

On behalf of all the teachers thanks so much for your support.

Noah and I caught jellyfish and let them go in a pond that led to the sea. - Yoshi Rm 3 When I went kayaking I saw two medium size fish. - Joe Rm 3 Camp was cool. I saw 2 crabs and some whitebait. I got the hang of kayaking in my first time. You have to twist the paddle to make it work properly. - Kieran Rm 4 I nearly fell out of the seabiscuit when we went over a wave. It was heaps of fun and I got lots of turns. -Luka Rm 4 I really liked kayaking through the rushes and being able to go all over the place. - Mya Rm4 The biking around the track and going over jumps was my favourite. I got lots better at the jumps. - Amber R Rm 1

I challenged myself by going on the seabiscuit. I was really nervous, but found it fun afterwards. - Alex Rm1 It was great hanging with my friends. The Ghost Trail was the best part. I was so nervous beforehand. Melanie gave me a real good fright. - Meredith Rm 1 The sea was lumpy when we went seabiscuiting and we really bounced along, especially when we went over the jetski wake. - Nat Rm1
