January 2013 Greetings, As the new President, I am pleased to issue the official convention call to the 42 nd International Convention of the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists (CBTU). This year the convention will be held in Orlando, Florida at the Buena Vista Palace, 1900 Buena Vista Drive, Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830 from May 22-27, 2013. The theme is Paths to Building on Our Foundation. All general convention sessions will be held at the Buena Vista Palace. As always, we are planning a great convention as we gather to celebrate our 42 nd anniversary with our delegates, guests, speakers, volunteers and many friends. In 2011, President Emeritus Bill Lucy engaged delegates to develop strategic initiatives for the organization to build on. At our 2012 convention we built on these initiatives implemented by region representatives and local chapters. Based on the work we have done, we are focusing this year on young worker engagement, public education, healthcare and international affairs. In addition to educating and engaging participants on these topics, there will also be workshops, information exchanges, resolutions and speakers addressing issues facing the labor movement and our communities. Greetings,

As the new President, I am pleased to issue the official convention call to the 42nd International Convention of the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists (CBTU). This year the convention will be held in Orlando, Florida at the Buena Vista Palace, 1900 Buena Vista Drive, Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830 from May 22-27, 2013.
