Spinning reserve optimisation: Elum controllers manage each genset automatically depending on the period of the day, the day of the week and the weather conditions. Spinning reserve level is set to ensure stability & reliability while minimizing fuel consumption.

Minimum genset loading: Elum controllers monitor each genset and, if needed, curtail PV power to ensure that each active genset operates above a minimum load to avoid low-speed and poor fuel combustion.

Diesel-off mode: In systems with storage, when the PV production is sufficient, Elum controllers switch off the gensets and ensure the spinning reserve through the Energy Storage System.

Grid feed-in management: Some grid operators do not allow to reverse power on their grid. Elum controllers curtail the exact amount of solar power to maximize solar penetration while avoiding any penalty from the grid operator.

Active / reactive power control: Elum power plant controller ensure compliance of the PV plant with country grid code through power control while maximizing power output and plant revenue

Load control: Elum controllers are able to manage load equipments

Plant Performance monitoring: ePowerLog collects all plant data available (power, voltage, current, alarms etc.) through each equipment connected to it - ex : inverters (PV, ESS), genset controllers, meters, weather station, I/Os and calculates plant performance KPIs

Secure data storage & flexible export: data is securely stored in the datalogger and can be visualised on ePowerMonitor (or any third party platform) including reporting & analysis, alarm management and plant diagnosis tools.

Portfolio management: Coupled with ePowerMonitor, ePowerLog allow for a multi-site management to monitor and track multiple site status from an intuitive GIS interface.

Reference for solar datalogging

Elum provided 300 units of its ePowerLog datalogger to Sunzil as part of the global monitoring retrofit program of their assets in operation in Guadeloupe, Martinique and French Guyana and Mayotte.

ePowerLog allows consistent data-collection over several non-Sunspec inverter protocols.

In this complicated retrofit project, 7 new PV plants were added to the existing 2 PV and diesel plant (6 DGs) along with the HFS controller to maximize PV penetration even during grid blackouts.
