Fermentation is a process by which chemical reactions occur due to the presence of microorganisms or enzymes. It is a process that breaks down molecules to transform them into simpler molecules.
In industrial processes, the fermentations are carried out in a reactor which is known as FERMENTER.

CONTINUOUSFED-BATCH BATCHFACTORS INFLUENCING FERMENTATIONOxygen: Controls the transfer rate and the resistance at the interface between the gas bubble and the liquid.Temperature: Fermentation must to be carried out at narrow temperature range and ideally constant.pH: It has to be controled by a cultive medium and adding an acid or base as needed to maintain constant pH.
