QUALITY CONTROL Quarry materials are tested regularly to ensure compliance with British Standards. GRADING INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE ON REQUEST SCALPINGS weight approx. 2 Tonnes/m³ £3.60 per tonne 30mm down material: suitable for road and track repairs. Moderate moisture content and contains some clay. BLASTED ROCK weight approx. 2 Tonnes/m³ £6.00 per tonne Material extracted by blasting from the quarry face. Sizes vary from 2 tonne stones down to dust. DUST weight approx. 2 Tonnes/m³ £4.60 per tonne Mainly used for blinding (topping) driveways and roads. Also used for bedding paving slabs and water pipes. ROAD MATERIAL weight approx. 2 Tonnes/m³ £5.10 per tonne 100mm down material: Ideal for roads and site works when there is no engineer’s specification to be met. Suitable for roads/sites for moderate depth excavations (up to approximately 200mm) Requires a minimal amount of blinding to obtain a smooth finish. CLASS 1B - Table 6/1 weight approx. 1.7 Tonnes/m³ £6.85 per tonne 70 – 125mm. A uniformly graded granular material which compacts well to give a very sound surface. The most commonly used hardcore for roads, sites, and foundations. CLASS 6N - Table 6/1 weight approx. 1.7 Tonnes/m³ £6.85 per tonne 75mm down. Suitable as hardcore on roads/sites where excavations are shallow, (up to approximately 120mm). TYPE 1 - Table 8/2 weight approx. 1.85 Tonnes/m³ £7.20 per tonne 50mm down. Well graded granular material recommended for preparing roads/sites prior to laying tar or concrete. This product compacts well and is easy to grade giving a smooth, sound surface for roads and drives, excellent for repairing pot-holes etc. Low water absorption. SILLS & LINTELS All our sills and lintels are made of C30 reinforced concrete. Lintels increase by 200mm up to 5 metres and Steel Mould sills start at 800 millimetres and go up in 100mm increments to 2.5 metres. Floated Finish sills can be any length you want, up to 3.5 metres. If we don’t have the size you want in stock, we can make it to your requirements. Please note there is a one metre minimum charge. LINTELS Lintels normally have a textured finish to allow the rendering to adhere to them, but you can request a fair-face finish on one, two or three sides. Add £6.40 per metre for one fair-face side and £11.40 for two or three.
