"The act of evil that occurred in Santa Fe has deeply touched the core of who we are as Texans," said Governor Greg Abbott. “In the midst of such tragedy, we pray for the victims and those mourning in Santa Fe, while we work to ensure swift and meaningful action to protect our students in schools across our state.” As the community continues to heal, we too want to support those affected by this horrific act. Governor Abbott has issued a statewide call for people to take part in a moment of silence to honor the memory of the victims in Friday’s attack. I ask that you to join me in observing that moment of silence at 10:00 a.m. today, May 21. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families forever affected by this awful act, and our thanks are also with first responders for doing such a tremendous job during and after the attack.

~40% increase of traffic along corridor by 2040 Pavement is deteriorating because of heavy traffic
and poor soil conditions Existing interchange designs limit mobility Two way frontage roads not meeting design
standards.

Increase capacity to meet increased growth demand.
Improve safety and mobility.
Upgrade to current design standards.
Convert frontage roads from two-way to one-way operation, and add new frontage roads in some areas where none exist today.
Changing the location of numerous entrance and exit ramps along the corridor
Reconstruct several overpasses / underpasses to improve bridge clearances and traffic operations.
