• Many, many sites - often specialized, and not obviously targeted to classroom use.– Need to be an polar expert to select best
search terms
• These sites represent best cumulative pools and best starting points.– List is not comprehensive– Sites are broader in scope rather than
specialized in content• Many link to specialty data and information

– Reliable, free from error
• Authority– Author is known, credentials available, publisher is
reputable
• Objectivity– Information is free of bias, controversial statements
represent both sides, no hidden agenda
• Currency– Information is up-to-date, updates are identified
• Coverage– topics are thoroughly and adequately covered; breadth
of coverage is sufficient for website’s purpose
• “comfortable” and “familiar”
• easy to use• extensive results
• but…. best resources often missed
