CONTEXTUAL TEACHING & LEARNING (CTL)
Presented by:MUHAMMAD NAZLI FERDIAN
DEFINITION OF CTL CTL is a holistic educational process CTL aims to help students to understand
the meaning of the subject matter that was studied by them
CTL links the materials with the context of their daily lives (personal, social and cultural context)
By using CTL, students will have knowledge/ skills that can be applied (transferred) flexibly from one problem/context to other problem/ contexts.
ROLE OF CTL
Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) helps teacher relate subject matter content to real world situations and motivate students to make connections between knowledge and its applications to their lives as family members, citizens, and workers and engage in the hard work that learning requires.
CTL COMPONENTS

CTL APPROACHES (1)
Problem-Based Learning,a learning approach that uses real life problems as a context for students to learn through critical thinking and problem solving skills in order to acquire the essential knowledge and concepts of the subject matter.
Authentic Instruction, the teaching approaches that allows the students to learn the meaningful context through the development of thinking skills and problem solving that are important in context of real life.
CTL APPROACHES (2)
Inquiry-Based Learning, a learning approach that follows the methodology of science and gives a chance for meaningful learning.
Project-Based Learning,a learning approach that allows students to work independently in constructing their learning (new knowledge and skills), and culminate it in real results.
Work-Based Learning,a learning approach that allows students to use workplace context in learning and teaching materials in order to use back the materials at work.
