ABOUT SRI BALAJI SOCIETY
Sri Balaji Society, Pune: An institution in itself built on the pillars of three values ‘Discipline,
Determination and Dedication, provides career specific contemporary education with a strong
emphasis on practical training and overall development of the students. Sri Balaji Society, Pune
is a charitable trust established under the Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950.

ABOUT BALAJI LAW COLLEGE
Balaji Law College, Pune was established in the year 2003
Balaji Law College (Affiliated to SavitribaiPhule Pune University, Recognized by Govt.
of Maharashtra & Bar Council of India), under the auspices of Sri Balaji Society, Pune
upholds the Society’s philosophy of Discipline, Dedication, and Determination. It is an
upcoming institution with a goal of catering to thecontemporary requirement of the
society to have trained Practicing and Corporate Lawyers.
Balaji Law College stands firm with the backdrop of its topmost Management Institution
honing the Managers for the corporate sector in India. The same training will hone the
lawyers to hold in this cutting edge competition in Legal Sector. Within a short span of
its inception, Balaji Law College has successfully catapulted a position in the legal
education sector and has stood the test of time in creating Judicial Officers, Legal
Advisors, Prosecutors and Corporate Lawyers, who are well placed in the industry.
Balaji Law College ensures that its students get an opportunity towards holistic
development and leaves no stone unturned to provide them with all the facilities,
amenities and ambience required for their versatile development. The institution is
avowed and dedicated to create a new breed of responsible and equipped Law Graduates

Sri Balaji Society, Pune means quality and commitment to the students' community. We believe
that each and every student has the potential to be groomed to have a successful career.
Directingthe right candidates to the right jobs through training and development has always been
the goal of our Society.
We are proud to state that, within an existence of 15 years, Sri Balaji Society is known not only
for its best infrastructure but also for the best faculties.
The excellent faculties, conducive environment, good infrastructure and stimulating atmosphere
in our campus enable students to dream and work hard to achieve their goals. It should be noted
that being creative, experimenting and unconventional group of institutes, we keep on updating
our course-curriculum and this has increased the efficiency and effectiveness of our students. We
treat time as the most precious resource. Therefore, classes-exercises-examinations may be
scheduled around the clock, for longer hours, and hence the students are required to go through
rigorous and hectic grooming/training process for 365 days.
Sri Balaji Society functions on the lines of Industry and University. The Directors of the Society
are the pillars of the society and are devoted to the welfare, growth efficiency, and excellence of
the students. The Directors of the Institutes are scholars and great leaders in their fields and they
work hand in hand with the Directors of the Society as one family. Each Director is empowered
to take decisions within the framework of rules and regulations laid down by Sri Balaji Society.
The rules and regulations of Sri Balaji Society are framed by a High-Power Committee which
comprises ofall the Directors and Advisors of Sri Balaji Society. Each Institute is also having its
own sub-committee comprising of the Director and Faculties of the Institute. This interdependent
and independent stand of each Institute enables us to grow together by drawing the expertise,
energy and resources from all the sources of the Society.
We only accept CET scores. We don't believe in cut off score as we feel that Sri Balaji
Society’smodel of selection has proved the test of time as it covers all the requisites including
personality and other relevant factors. Personality development of students is a critical
requirement for the growth and development of students. Therefore, a lot of work-shops,
seminars, and co-curricular activities are conducted regularly by the society in all the institutes to
ensure that the students areimmensely benefitted. Guest Lectures, Moot Courts and Seminars are
integral parts of the intensive training provided to our students. Senior Trainers and Stalwarts
from the Court and socio-legal department regularly visit us for the same. Discipline, Dedication
and Determination are our Core-Values. While we adopt a paternalistic approach in matters of
welfare and mentoring, we deal with the in-disciplined students with an iron hand. SBS is run on
the lines of an industry and rules and regulations are considered supreme. Therefore, you are
requested to go through the instructions published in this prospectus and make your choice. We
can assure you that your admission in our institutions would mean the right step to ultimately
land up in Legal Careers.

Dr. KILLI JANARDHANA RAO PRINCIPAL, BALAJI LAW COLLEGE, PUNE
Balaji Law College extends a warm and hearty welcome to all the students joining Three Years
and Five Years Law Degree Course.
Law and Society are interrelated and interdependent on each other. Considering the significance
of both these aspects in the light of globalization, we the members of Balaji Law College
founded under the aegis of Sri Balaji Society with able guidance of the Founder President Dr.
(Col.)A. Balsubramanian Sir, endeavor our best to make the students of Balaji Law College
socially relevant and professionally competent. As such, the students are nurtured with the spirit
and content of professionalism so as to make them perfect social engineers.
The college’s firm commitment is to inspire the confidence and imbue courage in the students to
successfully meet the challenges in the profession. This will also inculcate the professional
culture of advocacy and instill a sense of loyalty to serve the needy persons in the society.
The college is equipped with a team of dedicated and experienced faculty ever ready to guide the
of text books students in academic and extra academic activities. The college has a library with
good number and law journals as well as periodicals for catering the needs of the students.
Besides regular lectures in accordance with prescribed curriculum, the college also arranges
guest lectures by eminent personalities from academics as well as other fields. The College also
encourages the students to participate in academic events like moot-courts, legal quiz amongst
others. Also the college maintains a free legal aid clinic so as to acquaint the students with the
client – counsel interactive process.

INFRASTRUCTURE
State of Art Campus
A spacious campus of 3.6 acres provides an ambience for the healthy teaching and learning
atmosphere. The college is located in Tathawade, near Hinjewadi IT Park and surrounded by
various prestigiouseducational institutions.
Moot Court Room
A state-of art Moot Court Hall serves as an experiential learning place. The moot court room is
built separately to conduct the internal moots as well as for hosting the moot court competition.
The feel of classic court room is simulated through this Moot Court Hall.
Seminar Hall
Balaji Law College has a facility of seminar hall with well-equipped Information Technology to
conduct academic discussions, deliberations and workshops.
Library and Computer Lab
The library has well-equipped computer facility with online legal databases like Manupatra, SCC
online, Lexis Nexis (International) and free internet facility. The library consists of total 13085
books, which includes 489 reference books, 2263 general books, 13 journals, 7 magazines and 14
newspapers. The students are allowed to draw four books at a time for a period of 15 days. The
library subscribes to all leading newspapers, periodicals and all national and international
magazines. Students, faculty members and scholars are encouraged to recommend as many
books of international standards as required by them. Library is open for students during college
hours. The timings for issuing the books are between 10:00 a.m. to 04:00 p.m. We also have
Central Library of Sri Balaji Society, Pune which contains all international books, reference
books related to the courses, management and international scenario with spacious and well-
furnished reading hall.

Legal aid implies giving free legal service to the poor and needy, who cannot afford the services
of lawyers for the conduct of a case or a legal proceeding in any court, tribunal or before an
authority.
On Tuesday 4th February 2020, Sri Balaji Society’s Balaji Law College organised Legal Aid
Camp In Godumbre , Maharashtra.
The following respected dignitaries were invited for the legal Aid Camp:

Skits was conducted by several participants of the college on various topics

The event was organised by Legal Aid Cell of Balaji Law College. Here are few glimpse of the
event.
On 8th February 2020, Balaji Law College organised a legal aid camp to different courts
such as Morwadi court, Shivaji Nagar court, Khadki court and Wadgaon court. The visit
was under the guidance of Prof. TejaswiAvhad ma'am. The students of class BA.LLB 4th
and LLB 2nd had a visit to various courts which was indeed an informative and
knowledgeable experience to them. Here are few glimpses of the session.
SHIVAJI JAYANTI
“SHIVAJI JAYANTI” birth anniversary of ShivajiMaharaj was celebrated with traditional
fervour and great zeal in Balaji Law College on 9th March,2020.The celebration began with
the poster reveal of ShivajiMaharaj, This was followed by “PrabhatPheri” with boys
performing Dhol Tasha Pathak as the procession with ShivajiMaharaj, Jijabai and son
Sambhaji went along. Famous chants ‘HarHarmahadev’ added a royal effect to the entire
scene.
Dr.K.J Rao, principal of college addressed the audience with his mesmerising words. A
speech was given by Prathameshkamble(Second Yr BALLB)on the grandeur of the great
Maratha visionary, who dreamed of “SWARAJ” long before the actual independence
stugglebegan.Followed by a group dance performance. To add to it later a live performance
in which SainathGarade(Third Yr BALLB) acted as shivajimaharaj in the stage drama where
he dressed up as Shivaji himself brought back to life this majestic “Being” through
heartwarming dialogues.Dress theme of the day was traditional attire.Over all ,the costumes,
stage decor, melodious singing of students left a mesmerising effect on the minds of
everybody out there.
AMIGO CULTURAL PROGRAMME 2019-2020
Balaji Society’s Balaji Law College has recently witnessed the celebration of AMIGO
conducted by Balaji Law College’s Extra-Curricular Cell under the supervision of Asst. Prof.
Akanksha Srivastava and Asst. Prof. PriyaMondal.
THE REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION
On 26th January, 2020, Balaji Law College and Balaji College of Arts, Commerce and
Science celebrated 71th Republic Day. The Program started with the Flag Hoisting along
with National Anthem. After this the students were addressed by Principal of Balaji Law
College Dr. KilliJanardana Rao Sir, Principal of Balaji College of Arts, Commerce and
Science Dr. G.Y. Shitole Sir, Campus Director Dr. G.K. Shirude Sir. The program was
followed by cultural events which include melodious singing performance and
outstanding dance performances by the students of Balaji Law College and Balaji College
of Arts, Commerce and Science. The skit on LBGTQ was performed by the students of
Balaji Law College.
SEMINARS CONDUCTED On 4th October, 2019, a Seminar on Professional Ethics was conducted by Adv.
AnoopAwasthi. He is an experienced Chief Executive Officer with a demonstrated history
of working in the legal services industry. He is also Skilled in Negotiation, Criminal Law,
Government, Public Speaking, and Legal Writing. He enlightened students with several
behavioral norms which are ought to be followed by Interns as well as by Advocates. The
seminar was very informative and it even included question answer session.
On 27th September 2019, Balaji Law College organised a seminar on "RTI (Right To Information) Act 2005, it's use and importance".
There were three speakers, namely: 1) Sailesh Gandhi (Former Central Information Commissioner); 2) VeenitaDeshmukh (Author and Editor of Money Life Foundation); and
3) Vijay Kumbhar (RTI Activist). They enlightened the students with the utility and efficacy of the RTI Act in India and the procedure of filling an RTI with the government. They also encouraged the students to exercise their right to get information fearlessly.
MOCK TRIAL COMPETITION On 23rd September, 2019, Mock Trial Competition was conducted in Balaji Law College.
It was organized by Kamran Shaikh and ChintanTamhane of 4th Year B.A. LL.B., under the
guidance of Asst. Prof. TejaswiAvhad.

Dr. KilliJanardhana Rao
(PGDIRPM & LW, M.Com, M.A., LL.M., Ph.D.)
Prof. Dr. KilliJanardhana Rao has an experience of above 30 years. He worked as a Principal at
PDEA’s Law College, Hadapsar. He also provided his services as a lecturer in the Subject of
Law at D.S.R. Hindu College of Law, Machilipatnam and at Andhra University Post Graduate
Centre, Etcherla, Srikakulum from 1987 to 2006.
He did Ph.D., LL.M, M.A. (Politics) from Andhra University, Vishakhapatnam, and P.G.D.
IRPM & LW from Andhra Pradesh State Productivity Council (APPC), Hyderabad.
He was also the Member of Selection Committee nominated by SavitribaiPhule Pune University
for Selection of Principals and Teaching faculty for law Colleges. He was also a member of
Exam Evaluation CAP Monitoring Committee, Pune University; he also worked as a Member &
Chairman of Local Inquiry Committee (LIC) for affiliation of Law Colleges for Diploma, LL.B.,
B.A. LL.B., LL.M, & Ph.D. Programmes.
Prof. Dr. KilliJanradhana Rao has been awarded with Best Teacher Award by Shri
ArundadaBelhkarYuvaRashtranirmanSanstha, Pune and Excellence Legal Services Award by
Sinhgad Technical Education Society’s Sinhgad Law College, Pune.
Ms.Sangeeta Verma
(B.Com, LL.B, LL.M, SET)
Mrs. Sangeeta Verma completed her B.Com, LL.B (Mumbai University) and LLM (Business
Law) from Maharaja Sayajirao University (MSU), Vadodara. She has also completed her DHRM
from Welingkar’s University. She qualifies SET in June, 2019.She joined Balaji Law College as
Assistant Professor in 2017 after serving as a visiting faculty for a year. She teaches
Environmental Laws, Intellectual Property Laws, Company Law, Contract Law, Law of Torts,
Family Laws, Legal Language, Legal Writing etc.Before joining Academics she was a practicing
lawyer at Bombay High Court for four years and thereafter she worked with a law firm- New
Galexy Pvt. Ltd for 2.8 years. She has written and published Research Paper at National Level.
She has attended various National Seminars and a Faculty Development Programme for
enhancing her learning and teaching skills in higher education.She is in charge of the Moot Court
Cell of Balaji Law College.
Mrs. TejaswiAvhad
(B.S.L.LL.B, LL.M, SET)
Mrs. TejaswiAvhad pursued her B.S.L.LL.B from ILS Law College, Pune. She has obtained her
Masters in Criminal Law and Banking Law in 2013. She has qualified SET exam in the year
2018. She joined Balaji Law College as Assistant Professor in 2018 after serving as a visiting
faculty for 6 months. She teaches Constitutional law, Indian Evidence Act, Law of Crime,
Criminal Minor Act, Penology & Victimology, Professional ethics & Accounting; Contempt of
Court Law, etc. to undergraduates as well as Law postgraduates. She has presented research
Papers at State Level. Her Articles are published in International Journals.Prior to academics, she
was employed in Corporate and worked with companies like Systech Solutions for over 2 years.
She also worked for various Legal firms like Kini& Co., Patil&Deshmukh Associates etc.She is
in charge of the Legal Aid Cell of Balaji Law College. Prior to academics, she was employed in
corporates and worked with companies like Credit Suisse and Juri Matrix Pvt. Ltd. (Clutch
Group) for over 2 years.
Ms. RubushaGurung
(B.B.A. LL.B, LL.M)
Pursued BBA LLB from ICFAI University and was a gold medalist from her batch. She pursued
her LLM from ILS Law College Pune with a specialization in International Law.She Joined
Balaji Law college in 2018 and has been teaching International law, criminal psychology and
interpretation of statutes. She has published papers on ‘Legal issues of commercialisation of
Outer Space’ and ‘Loopholes in the procedure of sexual harassment cases’ in India.She is in
charge of the placement cell of Balaji Law college.
Ms. PriyaMondal

Ms. PriyaMondal pursued her B.A in English Literature (Honors.) from Cotton College
(Guwahati University), LL.B from Balaji Law College, LL.M International Law (Specialization)
from D.E.S’s Shri.NavalmalFirodia Law College.She is associated with Balaji Law College as
Assistant Professor since July, 2019. She teaches Interpretation of Statutes, Law of Contracts and
Criminal Psychology and Criminal Sociology.She is in charge of the Extra Curricular Cell of
Balaji Law College.
Ms. Neha Gaur

Ms. Neha Gaur pursued her B.B.A.LL.B from Mody University of Science and Technology,
Rajasthan after which she joined Mindcrest and worked for the duration of 6 months. Then she
completed her LL.M from Symbiosis Law school, Pune. She also has various papers published in
numerous journals. She qualified SET in June, 2019.Later, she joined Balaji Law College as a
visiting faculty from 2017 to 2019. She joined Balaji Law college as a permanent faculty in
2019. She has been teaching Criminology and Penology, Criminal Psychology and Criminal
Sociology, Law of Forensic Science, Law of Torts, Law of Contract, Law of Torts and Property
Law and Easement.She is in charge of the Student Engagement and Support Cell of Balaji Law
College.

Ms. Akanksha Srivastava complete her B. Com (Hons.) from Delhi University and pursued her
LLB from Balaji Law College. She pursued her LLM from SavitribaiPhule Pune University
(Dept. of Law) with specialisation in Criminal Law.She has also attended several National
Seminars and has interned with Advocate S. K. Jain.She is currently teaching the subjects Land
Laws, Arbitration and Conciliation and Legal English in Balaji Law College and is in charge of

Students will have to maintain decorum in campus as Discipline, Dedication &
Determination is our moto.
College timing is from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and students will have to be in campus for
the whole time.
Compulsory bio-metric Attendance
The students who fail to maintain attendance beyond 75% will not be allowed to
appear for University exams and will be discontinued from the college role
Regular assignment, class test, surprise test will be conducted and the assessment will
be done accordingly.
Gurukul culture is prevalent and so every student has a right to meet any Professor,
Principal, Director or President of the Society to share their thoughts and grievances
Uniform is compulsory on all days except for Saturday.
