Most of the first letters of each title feature a subtle twirl. This creates both a feminine and youthful feel and could indicate that the magazine is vibrant and fun. This also creates a symbiotic link with other issues of the magazine and other pages within it, as the feature is regularly repeated. Other fun, feminine and youthful touches are created through the use of love hearts and the pink gradients on each of the text boxes.

The contents page follows general and layout conventions of contents pages by stating which page number certain stories are on. This feature enables the audience to find the most interesting content very, very quickly. However, when a page number is enlarged and highlighted alongside a story (e.g. number ‘26’ next to One Direction), it is usually a page number that can be found towards the middle or back of the magazine. This means that the audience will need to flick through the magazine to get to that page. The publication have been very clever here and purposefully instigated this so that the audience will see other content before arriving at the story that caught their eye on the contents page.

Generally speaking, the contents page follows layout conventions, as the textual content is divided into columns and due to the fact that there is an equal text to image ratio. Overall, the content page is quite jam-packed with content. This will appeal to the audience, as they will think that there is lot for them to read and enjoy; they might consider devoting a large part of their day to leisurely sit back, relax and soak up all the magazine has to offer.
