1) Log in to myBama (www.mybama.ua.edu).

2) Click the “Research” tab on the left.

3) Under Training, click “CITI Program”.

4) If you have never accessed the CITI Program, click “Continue” to have an account created (see below). **If you already have a CITI account, skip to Step 6.

5) Click the second option.

6) Click “University of Alabama Courses”.

7) Click “Add a Course or Update Learner Groups”.

8) The next screen will display several questions corresponding to various courses (see screen shots that follow). If you only need to enroll in the Conflicts of Interest course:

a. Select “Not at this time” for Questions 1, 2, 3. b. Skip Questions 4, 5, 6. c. Select “Not at this time” for Question 7. d. Select “Yes” for Question 8 (Conflicts of Interest).

NOTE: If you are currently enrolled in or completing other courses (e.g., the Human Subjects Research course required for IRB training), do not change your responses to questions corresponding to them.

Instructions for Non-UA Investigators

First-Time CITI Users (those without a CITI account): 1) Go to www.citiprogram.org. 2) Under Create an Account, click “Register”. 3) Select your organization affiliation (“University of Alabama”). 4) Provide your name and email address. 5) Create a username and password (keep and record for future logins). 6) Choose a security question and provide an answer. 7) Provide demographic information as requested. 8) Indicate whether you are interested in receiving continuing education (CE) credit. 9) Provide additional information requested by UA. 10) Select Curriculum.

• There are a series of questions (some required) that will allow you to select various courses.

• For the last question (# 8: Conflicts of Interest), select “Yes” and click “Submit”.

Current CITI Users Who Are Affiliated with Other Institutions: 1) Log in to CITI. 2) From the Main Menu select “Click here to affiliate with another institution” and enter (or

search for) “University of Alabama”. 3) From the Main Menu, click “University of Alabama Courses”. 4) Under My Learner Tools for University of Alabama, click “Add a Course or Update Learner

Groups”. 5) On the Select Curriculum page, scroll down to the last question (# 8: Conflicts of Interest),

select “Yes” and then click “Submit”. The “Conflicts of Interest” course will appear on the Main Menu under “University of Alabama Courses”.
