These language packs contain the whole path from catalog directory and downwards, so just copy the “catalog” directory to the root of your web shop, and all language related files and directories will be placed in their right places. This reduces the risk of error during installation. If you download and install language packs from http://addons.oscommerce.com/category/Languagesyou must often copy directories and files to their correct locations in the same way as above, as if you had changed the directory name of admin.

Special Cases

Changed the name of the admin directory

If you changed the name of the admin directory, you have to copy files and directories, as follows:

the file catalog/includes/languages/swedish.phpthe directory catalog/includes/languages/swedishtocatalog/includes/languages

and

the file catalog/admin/includes/languages/swedish.phpthe directory catalog/admin/includes/languages/swedishtocatalog/<your new admin directory name>/includes/languages

If you have some add-ons installed you have to check manually that definitions belonging to those add-ons are added after this installation to the new language files you installed here, so that the add-on will work in the new language as well.

If osCommerce 2.3.4 is installed without the catalog directory

You can if you will, install osCommerce, without the initial catalog directory, if you want the index file index.php to reside directly under your website root. It may be the case if you only have this osCommerce web shop on your website. In other cases, for example, if you have a previous webpage where you want to add an osCommerce online store with a link then the standard installation with the directory catalog will fit better. If you installed the osCommerce 234 directly to your webroot, without the initial catalog directory,
