framework for delivering prognostic assessments of policy options for the sustainable management of coastal zones considering their ecological, social and economic aspects

Pollution status of the Istanbul Water Reservoirs 2004 - 2009

Objectives Determination of water quality, ecological structure

and pollution status of the lakes Investigation of the effects of the stream/river

discharges to the aquatic environment Obtaining recent data/information for the future lake

management plans

Outcomes Ecological structure, water quality and sediment

pollution status of the lakes were determined. Effects of the discharges to the lake

ecosystem were investigated Recent data were obtained for the

sustainable management of the lakes.
