    -CONTEMPORARYTRADITIONS-November 17, 2012 February 3, 2013

    Venue: Gates Garden Court Gallery, Denver Botanic Gardens

    You are cordially invited to submit work to the jurying process for the annual BotanicalIllustration Art Show. Your dedication to mastering the skills of botanical art and illustrationmakes us extremely proud and we would like to showcase your success in a public exhibit. Wewelcome artists who have participated in Denver Botanic Gardens Botanical Art and IllustrationProgram from July 2010 through summer 2012. Artworks of all levels and in any media taught inthe program are welcome.

    RECEPTION AND CELEBRATION FOR THE 2012GRADUATES:SUNDAY,NOVEMBER 18,1-3 P.M.

    Eligibility:Open to artists enrolled in Botanical Art and Illustration courses July 2010 through summer 2012.

    Media:All media taught in the Denver Botanic Gardens Botanical Art and Illustration Program is accepted:Carbon Dust; Colored Pencil; Drypoint; Egg Tempera; Graphite; Pen and Ink; Scratchboard;Silverpoint; Transparent Acrylics; Watercolor; Watercolor Pencil and Mixed Media.

    All artwork must be original. No photography or digitally generated work will be accepted. No gicleprints or offset lithographs considered. Three-dimensional work related to courses taught within

    program is acceptable; including hand bound books, sketchbooks, pop-ups, pysanky eggs, etc.

    Scale:If scale is included on the plate, only metric units are allowed.

    Submission Method:Each artist may submit one two-dimensional entry and one three-dimensional entry. All artwork must besubmitted electronically via e-mail for jury consideration to [email protected] withContemporary Traditions in the subject line of the e-mail. A complete submission includes acompleted entry form and digital image for each entry. Each artwork entry must have its own entry form

    one for 2D and one for 3D.

    Images must be submitted at 300 dpi JPEG or TIFF format (5 longest side) with artists name and titleof artwork as the file name (e.g., LastName_Planta communis). Keep in mind that attachments to ane-mail must be less than 10MB total; each entry needs to be submitted in a separate e-mail.

    Only electronic submissions provided in this way will be considered. Do not send a disk with hard copyform.

    The work will be judged according to the standards of the media, typically composition, technical skill,and botanical accuracy.

    Submission Deadline:11:59pm, September 3, 2012, Mountain Daylight time.

    NotificationAcceptances and regrets will be sent via e-mail by October 5, 2012.

    Presentation, Size and Format:Upon acceptance to the exhibition, artists will submit matted artwork only; no frame. Mats must be 4- or8-ply white rag, fitting exactly into a 16 x 20 frame (interior measurement). Artists juried into theexhibition will receive detailed information and requirements upon notification.

    Delivery and Insurance:Delivery requirements will be detailed with acceptance notices. While on site, artwork is insured byDenver Botanic Gardens. For insurance purposes, a valuation of your piece MUST be on file, even ifyour work is not for sale. Please complete this portion of the entry form accurately upon submission.
