October 6 to 8
40 Hours Devotion
The 40-Hours is an ancient exercise of
devotion in which continuous prayer is made for forty hours before the Blessed Sacrament in solemn exposition.
The celebration of this devotion will
begin with Solemn Mass on Friday, October 6 @ 6:30 p.m. and will end with Mass on Sunday, October 8 @ 10:30 a.m. Each of these masses includes a procession and the litany of the saints being chanted.
During this period there will be meditations, devotions and praise. On Saturday, we will celebrate a Mass for Peace. Of course, the heart of this devotion is the time that you and I spend in prayer before Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.
I encourage you all to take time to pledge yourself to at least one hour of Adoration and attend some of the devotions. These 40-Hours can revolutionize the spiritual life of our parish.
I love you all like Jesus! Fr. Eric
To all my sons and daughters in Christ! I hope this finds everyone doing well after the start of September. We are in the short time between the rest of Labor Day Weekend and the unbridled energy of Wo-Zha-Wa days.
How I love being a priest and how I love being in the Dells! Once again, I would like to point out a couple of important spiritual events that are coming in a few weeks that can help you to grow in Faith!
Starting Wednesday, September 20

“Lord Jesus, You were born of the Virgin Mary,
The daughter of Saints Joachim and Anne. Look with love on grandparents the world over. Protect them! They are a source of enrichment
for families, for the Church and for all of society. Support them! As they grow older, may they
continue to be for their families strong pillars of Gospel faith, guardian of noble domestic ideals,
living treasures of sound religious traditions. Make them teachers of wisdom and courage, that they may pass on to future generations the fruits of their mature human and spiritual experience.
Lord Jesus, Help families and society to value the presence and roles of grandparents. May they never be
ignored or excluded, but always encounter respect and love. Help them to live serenely and to feel welcomed in all the years of life which you
give them. Mary, Mother of all the living, keep grandparents constantly in your care, accompany
them on their earthly pilgrimage, and by your prayers, grant that all families may one day be reunited in our heavenly homeland, while you
await all humanity for the great embrace of life without end. Amen.”
