It has continued to share in the mission of the Church to spread Christ’s message under the inspiration and patronage of its model, St. Thomas Aquinas, the great theologian and doctor of the Church. It was founded on April 28, 1611 by Manila Archbishop Miguel de Benavides, O.P. It was given the title ‘Royal University’ on March 7, 1785 by King Charles III. On September 17, 1902, Pope Leo XIII made UST a ‘Pontifical University’ and finally in 1947, Pope Pius XII granted the title ‘The Catholic University of the Philippines’. UST was originally located in Intramuros, the old walled City, but in 1927 it was transferred to its present campus in Sampaloc. CONFERENCE OBJECTIVES This international conference will serve as venue to:  •Share best practices in eLearning from classroom to institutional levels.•Discuss and critique pedagogical and andragogical applications of eLearning.•Promote better academe-industry collaborations•Strengthen linkages and partnerships between and among institutions with common targets, interests and expectations.•Promote continuing research and publication in the areas of education technology, eLearning and teaching, and ‘e-nnovations’.

EDU QUAD:

Teaching and Learning Technologies

The University of Santo Tomas , located at the heart of Manila, the city capital of the Philippines will host EDU QUAD as part of its 400th year celebration this 2011. EDU QUAD, an international conference on technologies for teaching and learning, serves as an opportunity to gather and link key administrators, scholars, researchers and educational technologists from both the academe and the industry. EDU QUAD focuses on the four cornerstones of technology integration in education: Quality, Universality, Access and Development. EDU QUAD showcases the various facets of educational technology through the effective application of the principles of teaching and learning, innovation and sharing, collaboration and networking, as well as research and publication.
