Letter to our friends

1

Dear Friends of 4C, Every year, we are driven to improve upon the programs and services available to meet our communities’ needs. The days are often long as we diligently work to keep the topic of early learning services on the minds of those who invest in what we do. For over 42 years, we have stood unwavering in our committment “to empower the community to provide for its future through developing, coordinating, and strengthening programs that care for children.” It’s been a long road, and I’m honored to have been here to see the evolution. We are thankful to have been able to serve over 55,000 individuals throughout the agency in the 2010/11 program year. Our Early Head Start Program has grown steadily since its inception in 2009, and children are more prepared to enter school ready to learn. 4C extends its hand to you to join us in our mission. Each parent, volunteer, staff person and donor keeps us committed to Caring for Our Future today. Sincerely,

Colleen Gallagher Scott Wall

The first few years of life are critical to growth and brain development,

creating pathways for learning. The early years are especially

critical to language development, socialization, and complex thinking - important attributes for success in

school and beyond.

Consider making a dona-tion to support children and families in your local area. With programs rang-ing from Early Head Start to the School Readiness Pro-gram, your financial or in-kind donation will be maxi-mized to its fullest potential. Do you have gently used books, arts and crafts sup-plies, or other early learning toys you would like to give? Consider 4C as your benefi-ciary. Contact us at 407-532-4115 for more information. Your donation is tax deductible.

Testimonials

As a single father with two

little ones, I was overjoyed to get some relief with childcare. I don’t have any family in the area and

with my own learning disabilities, I didn’t want my children to suffer.

I’m so happy they are in an environment where they can

learn.

Paying for childcare was

the only thing I could afford before I received assistance. All of my other household bills had to fall

to the side. Since I’ve received help, not only can I manage my

bills, but I have more time to spend with my

children.

Getting a divorce was difficult

emotionally and financially. It was a long road to finding a stable job in this economy. I finally found

the employment that has helped me provide for my family. Without help

from 4C, I don’t know where I would be today.

ChIP IN 4 KIDS

Fun was in abundance as Friends of 4C tried their hands at roulette ta-bles, slot machines, and a Texas Hold ‘Em Tournament. There was no shortage of food, fun, or sentiment, as a client expressed the impact of receiving help through the School Readiness program. The event raised $7,000 for quality improvement of programs and services.

4C hosted its second Chip In 4 Kids fundraiser on November 4, 2010 at the Hyatt Coconut Point Resort in Bonita Springs. By foster-ing professional excellence through training, technical assistance, and resources for childcare, 4C and the Early Learning Coalition of Southwest Florida work to-gether to ensure that children are in school readiness pro-grams that promote healthy development and growth.

When you hear the sounds emanating across the night sky and the dance floor is full, it’s time for Tees & Ties. The 5th an-nual fundraising event benefitting fami-lies and qualiity improvement of 4C pro-grams and services was held on March 13, 2010 at B.B. King’s Blues Club at Pointe Orlando. The night was filled with great food, silent and live auctions and lots of dancing. More than 300 Friends of 4C gathered together in support of Cen-tral Florida families in need of services.

Special guest for the evening Joey Fatone (formerly of NSync), generously donated a live auction trip for two to Los Angeles for a taping of Dancing with the Stars. This contribution, combined with donations from event sponsors and local vendors, helped 4C raise over $50,000 for programs and services for children and families.
