Yorkshire 3 Peaks

Horton-In-Ribblesdale The small village is situated in

Ribblesdale on the Settle-Carlisle Railway to the west of Pen-Y-

Ghent and is the most popular location to start the challenge. With no more than 600 people

living there, you are in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. The focal

point of the village is the medieval church dating as far back as the

15th Century and still has many of the original Norman features. It is well known for its small number of

Inns, accommodation and pubs which are traditional in every

sense.

Sponsorship and Donations • Personal Donation Letters: why not tell family members what you plan to do and ask for a donation, this could perhaps be instead of a Christmas gift. • Local Businesses: Why not ask local businesses if they would like to donate a gift for a raffle or perhaps you could auction it off on eBay?• Matching Funds: Why not ask businesses and employers to match the money you have raised or a percentage thereof. • Donation Containers: Why not leave a donation box at work or in your home, the money quickly adds up and is effortless.

Fundraising Activities And Collections • Dine At Home: Instead of you and your friends going out for a meal why not have them come over to yours and donate the money they would have spent to your Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge. • Recycle: Why not try and recycle, it’s great for the environment but could also help raise the money need in Sponsorship. Why not get your friends and family to help by giving you their old, unwanted mobile phones and MP3 players. Or maybe used ink cartridges. •Jumble Sale: Why not sell your old and unwanted items, it’s a great way to create a bit of extra space in your house but also can increase your sponsorship quite significantly.

Online Donations One of the easiest ways to get people to donate money is by setting up your own online sponsor page. It will boost your sponsorship money up significantly with minimal effort, and without the hassle of chasing people up for donations after the event. It’s simple to do, just go to Justgiving.com and the follow the instructions.
