The Big 12 picked up two road wins against power conferences in the first two weeks of the season with TCU defeating Minnesota and Oklahoma downing Tennessee. The Big 12’s non-conference win percentage of .800 (16-4) is the second-highest among FBS leagues and the best for the Conference in the first two weeks of the season since an .882 mark (15-2) in 2012. Since becoming a 10-team league in 2011, the Big 12 is 72-16 (.818) in non- conference games through the first two weeks of the season. Big 12 games televised on ESPN continue to do well in the ratings. No. 19 Oklahoma at No. 23 Tennessee (2.6 overnight) was ESPN’s highest-rated game of the day and college football’s fourth-highest game overall across all networks. The Sooners’ double overtime victory was up 271% to the comparable window in 2014 (Week 2: Ole Miss vs. Vanderbilt). The Big 12’s total offense average of 476.55 yards and passing average of 293.10 yards lead all FBS conferences. Six Big 12 quarterbacks are ranked in the top 18 nationally in total offense - 2. Patrick Mahomes (TTU), 428.5; 4. Seth Russell (BU), 391.0; 12. Skyler Howard (WVU), 348.5; 13. Mason Rudolph (OSU), 340.0; T18. Baker Mayfield (OU) and Trevone Boykin (TCU), 314.5. Seven teams continue non-conference play in week 3, including two matchups against peer conferences as Texas hosts California and Texas Tech travels to Arkansas.

The Big 12 picked up two road wins against power conferences in the fi rst two weeks of the season with TCU defeating Minnesota and Oklahoma downing Tennessee.

The Big 12’s non-conference win percentage of .800 (16-4) is the second-highest among FBS leagues and the best for the Conference in the fi rst two weeks of the season since an .882 mark (15-2) in 2012.

Since becoming a 10-team league in 2011, the Big 12 is 72-16 (.818) in non-conference games through the fi rst two weeks of the season.

Wide receiver Corey Coleman hauled in six passes for 182 yards and set a school record with four touchdown catches in the win over Lamar. The TD catches covered 42, 21, 61 and 34 yards.

Three Bears went over 100 rushing yards for the third time in school history. Shock Linwood had 130 yards while Johnny Jeff erson and Terrance Williams each had 121 yards. It was a career-best total for both Jeff erson and Williams.

Junior running back Ke’aun Kinner had 113 yards rushing against Memphis and is the fi rst KU back since James Sims in 2013 with back-to-back 100-yard games.

Kansas forced and recovered three fumbles in the game, the most since matching that total at Oklahoma State on Nov. 10, 2007.

The last time Oklahoma trailed by 14 or more at the end of the third quarter and went on to win was 1983 when the Sooners overcame a 17-3 defi cit to Oklahoma State to win 21-20.

Oklahoma held Tennessee scoreless in the third and fourth quarters, limiting the Volunteers to eight yards in the fourth quarter.

TCU’s 70 points were the second-most scored in a game in program his-tory. It was just the sixth time TCU eclipsed the 65-point mark in a game.

Five Horned Frogs scored their fi rst collegiate touchdowns: Denzel John-son, Jaelan Austin, Kyle Hicks, Colten Christensen and KaVontae Turpin. Bram Kohlhausen had his fi rst career touchdown pass.

In the fi rst half of games this season, Quarterback Patrick Mahomes is 39-of-58 passing (67 percent) for 619 yards and seven touchdowns. Mahomes has been named the Big 12 Off ensive Player of the Week the fi rst two weeks of the season.

Texas Tech’s 128 points through two games is the second-highest to start a season in school history. The Red Raiders totaled 136 points in their fi rst two games in 2005.

The win over UTSA marks the third time in school history K-State has al-lowed three points or less in the fi rst two games of the season. It previously happened in 1936 and 2002.

Junior Joe Hubener, making his fi rst career start, had a career-high 243 yards passing and a career-high 58 yards rushing in the win.

Sophomore quarterback Mason Rudolph, making his fi rst home start, threw for two touchdowns and a career-high 401 yards.

Oklahoma State had 10 off ensive plays of more than 20 yards and also had a 53-yard kickoff return in the win over Central Arkansas.

Texas set a school record with 175 yards on punt returns against Rice. Daje Johnson had 119 yards on three returns (one for an 85-yard TD) and Duke Thomas had one punt return for 56 yards.

Texas scored 42 points but ran just 38 off ensive plays in the win over Rice. The Longhorns had 327 yards on punt, kickoff , interception and fumble returns.

Liberty’s fi rst points this past Saturday came with 4:35 remaining in the third quarter. West Virginia started the season with six consecutive quarters without allowing a point. The last time that happened was 1977.

Kicker Josh Lambert’s two fi eld goals in the win pushed his career total to 52, fourth-most in school history.
