2016 Ball Out Against ALS Kickball Tournament - In Honor of Ben Wilson: Partnership Opportunity Request
As staff person responsible for the 2016 Ball Out Against ALS Kickball Tournament, I would like to invite you to participate in this exciting community event.
The ALS Association South Carolina Chapter’s vision is to create a world without ALS. Our mission is to lead the fight to treat and cure ALS through global research and nationwide advocacy while also empowering people with Lou Gehrig’s disease and their families to live fuller lives by providing them with compassionate care and support.
The 2016 Ball Out Against ALS Kickball Tournament is in honor of Ben Wilson, who passed away from the disease. The following is a message from his son, Erik, who is organizing the event. “I want to thank everyone for making a choice to have fun and do something great to help fight such a horrible disease. You know it's going for a great cause to help research find a cure for ALS. I love each and every one of you for taking your time to play, donate, volunteer, or spread awareness. This year we step up to the plate, as we will for many years to come, to help make the incurable, curable. It can and it will be achieved and all of you are now a fantastic part of that effort! I am forever grateful and humbled by all of you. My Pops, Ben has the best seat in the house for this tournament and I know he would look at this as one of his greatest days on earth or in heaven! All my love to each of you and thank you for inspiring and empowering me to make this stronger and stronger every year!”
Please join us! The 2016 Ball Out Against ALS Kickball Tournament in Charleston, SC will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2016 from 8:30AM – 5:30PM at the Elks Club. We anticipate more than 200 participants to show their support for finding a cure for ALS and the 300 South Carolinians currently battling the disease. I’m Victoria Latham with Pozify, a local technology start up, and we are hosting a large fundraising event on behalf of the South Carolina Chapter of the ALS Association in June. Our “1st Annual Ball Out Against ALS 2016 Kickball Tournament” event will be held at the Elks Lodge in Charleston, SC on June 25, 2016 starting at *:00 a.m.
The 2016 Ball Out Against ALS Kickball Tournament is in honor of Ben Wilson, who passed away from the disease. The following is a message from his son, Erik, who is organizing the event.

Our event is expected to draw over 250 supporters, participants, and local businesses who will also be prominently featured in our event program. In addition, each program contains a “support our supporters” flyer listing contact details for these businesses.
Can you help us out with a donation of a product or service from your business because it will greatly help the ALS Association and the services they provide the low country? All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. Your donation can be something as simple as a gift certificate to your business or an invitation to share lunch with you.
A donation form for silent auction items is attached. Simply fill it out, then call or email us and we’ll handle all of the details going forward.
