BALI

The ongoing US-China trade wars has the Bali Chamber of Commerce worried as the US

remains one of the major destinations for Bali’s exports, including handicrafts. As per

the Central Bureau of Statistic (BPS) data, exports to the US accounted for 28.98% of the

US $ 49.636 million exports from Bali in May 2018.

Bank Indonesia of Bali Province said business in Bali is improving with the highest

increase in most sectors such as trade, hotels and restaurants based on the results of the

second quarter survey to business players, "The increase in business is driven by

seasonal factors such as Galungan and Lebaran holidays which boosted demand, "said

the Head of Representative of Bank Indonesia in Bali Causa Iman Karana, Monday (9/7).

In addition to the holidays, the survey also mentioned that the increase in business

activities is also driven by the increase in foreign tourist arrivals after the eruption of

Mount Agung.

The number of foreign tourists arriving in Bali during 2018 up to June was 2,892,302

through I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, Badung. Tourists from China still occupied the first

position of the most tourists to Bali, with the number of 684,106 people or 23.65 percent

of the total. The second rank was occupied by foreign tourists from Australia at 547.375

or 18.93 percent. Indian tourists, totaling 194,342 or 6.72 percent, ranked third.

WEST NUSA TENGGARA

Thousands of tourism industry actors from around the world attended the 5-day Bali &

Beyond Travel Fair (BBTF) event from 26-30 June at BNDCC. President Director of

Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), Abdulbar M. Mansoer said ITDC as

a state-owned tourism sector invite BBTF 2019 delegates to Mandalika in Lombok.

Mandalika is one of the four main tourism destinations targeted by the government,

apart from Lake Toba, Borobudur & Labuan Bajo, as part of the effort to create 10 “New

Balis” to accommodate new trends of nomadic tourism and ecotourism. It is expected to

be equivalent to Bali in attracting foreign tourists.

SOUTH SULAWESI

As several operators of ready-to-produce oil and gas blocks in Indonesia pull out their

investments, the government is striving to enrich its data on the resources before

entering the assets in upcoming auctions. The government is now preparing the data for

three blocks that would be offered in an upcoming auction, namely Makassar Strait,

Celebes Sea; Selat Panjang, Central Sumatra Basin; and West Kampar, Riau.

b. Bilateral Developments

NORTH SULAWESI – TURKEY

The Governor of North Sulawesi, Olly Dondokambey, said in Manado that the North

Sulawesi Provincial Government needs 3,000 megawatt electricity in line with

investment rate in tourism and infrastructure sector. Electrical energy is to supply a

number of star hotels in Manado and North Minahasa as well as factories in the Special

Economic Zone of Bitung. North Sulawesi's electric energy is supported by a Turkish

Marine Vessel Power Plant of 120 megawatts in Amurang Bay. The vessel is hired by PT

PLN (state electrical company) to supply North Sualwesi for three years and will expire

in 2021. Dondokambey considers continuing the rental of Turkish vessel.

REMARKS

July 2018, the import value of Bali Province was recorded at USD 22,044,809. This figure has increased by 110.85 percent compared to the condition in June 2018 (m-to-m) which was recorded at USD 10,455,037. This month's achievement also recorded an increase of 74.76

percent compared to the same month of the previous year (y-on-y) which reached USD 12,614,091.

Cumulative import of Bali Province for the period January - July 2018 was recorded at USD 94,226,693, an increase of 31.76 percent compared to the situation in the previous year (y-on-y) which reached USD 71,511,683.

July 2018, the value of Bali's goods exports sent through several ports in Indonesia was recorded at USD 46,475,569. This figure has increased by 39.38 percent compared to the export value in June 2018 (m-to-m) which reached USD 33,344,116. Meanwhile, the

achievement of July 2018 recorded an increase of 13.05 percent from the same month in the previous year (y-on-y) which reached USD 41,112,256.

Cumulative export of goods from Bali Province for the period January to July 2018 reached USD 332,417,151, an increase of 8.01 percent compared to the situation in 2017 (y-on-y) which reached USD 307,777,484.

In July 2018, the export value of East Nusa Tenggara Province was USD 1,399,826 with volume of 5,892.21 tons. The export value consists of oil and gas exports worth USD 194,613 and non-oil and gas exports worth USD 1,205,213. This export value rose by 19.28 percent or

increased by USD 226.301 when compared to the export value in June 2018 of USD 1,173,525. When compared to the total exports in the same period in July 2017 amounting to USD 2,094,167, there was a decrease of 33.16 percent.

Imports of East Kalimantan Province in July 2018 reached USD 0.38 billion or increased by 42.22% compared to imports in June 2018. Meanwhile, if compared to July 2017, it increased by 20.45%. Imports of oil and gas goods in July 2018 reached USD 0.30 billion, up 163.30% compared to June

2018. While imports of non-oil and gas goods in July 2018 reached USD 0.08 billion, down by 1.4% compared to June 2018.

Cumulatively, the import value of East Kalimantan Province for the period of January-July 2018 reached USD 2.42 billion, an increase of 42.22% over the same period in 2017. Of all imports for the period of January - July 2018, imports of oil and gas goods reached USD 1.74 billion, up 163.30% and

non-goods oil and gas reached USD 0.68 billion or increased by 57.40%. Import increases in July 2018 were caused by rising oil and gas goods.

JULY 2018



Exports of East Kalimantan Province in July 2018 decreased by 0.68% compared to June 2018, from USD 1.64 billion to USD 1.63 billion. When compared to July 2017, the export value of July 2018 has increased by 24.23%. Exports of oil and gas goods in July 2018 reached USD 0.27 billion,

down 15.21% compared to June 2018. While exports of non-oil and gas goods in July 2018 reached USD 1.36 billion, up 2.85% compared to June 2018.

Cumulatively, the export value of East Kalimantan Province for the period of January-July 2018 reached USD 10.66 billion, an increase of 9.85% compared to the same period in 2017. Of all exports for the period of January-July 2018, exports of oil and gas goods reached USD 1.93 billion, down 17.88% and non-goods oil and gas reached USD 8.72 billion or an increase of 18.73%. The decline in exports in July 2018 was caused by a decline in oil

and gas exports of 15.2%.

South Kalimantan's import value in July 2018 was USD 158.55 million, an increase of 69.45 percent compared to imports in June 2018 which reached USD 93.56 million. Whereas when compared with the import value in July 2017, this value rose by 117.01 percent with a value of USD 73.06 million.

The trade balance of South Kalimantan's export and import in July 2018 was a surplus of USD 737.90 million.

Judging from the trade balance with all trading partners countries, Central Sulawesi has a surplus of USD 155.59 million during July 2018 and surplus of USD 1,315.91 million during January-July 2018.

The value of North Sulawesi's non-oil and gas exports in July experienced a decline in export value of 10.75% compared to June 2018 which was valued at USD 79.92 million (m-m), when compared to the same month in 2017 (y-on-y) fell by 15.52%.

This month's decline was partly due to the decline in the export value of animal or vegetable fats and oils, which in the past 6 months still dominated the value of non-oil and gas exports in North Sulawesi.

This figure has increased by 3.48 percent compared to the export value in June 2018 which reached USD 108.05 million. Meanwhile, the achievement of July 2018 recorded an increase of 52.75 percent from the condition of the

same month of the year previously that reached USD 73.20 Million.

Papua imports in July 2018 were recorded at USD 28.42 million consisting of oil and gas imports worth USD 9.89 million and non-oil and gas imports worth USD 18.53 million. Compared to June 2018, the import value of Papua decreased by 58.90 percent which was affected by the

decline in the value of oil and gas and non-oil and gas imports by 53.36 percent (down USD 11.32 million) and 61.36 percent (down USD 29.42 million).

The imported oil and gas commodities consist of the fuel of diesel engine vehicles and white spirit. Whereas non-oil and gas commodities that have the greatest import value are nails, nuts and bolts.

Cumulative total imports of Papua in the period January-July 2018 amounted to USD 293.05 million or an increase of 11.12 percent compared to the cumulative total imports in the January-July 2017 period which amounted to USD 263.73 million. Papua's trade balance in July 2018 experienced a surplus of USD 302.50 million. Cumulatively, Papua's trade balance in January-July 2018 also experienced a surplus

of USD 2,317.25 million.


Papua's exports in July 2018 were recorded at USD 330.92 million or decreased by 17.52 percent compared to the previous month which was USD 401.20 million. Judging from its type, Papua's exports consisted entirely of non-oil and gas goods valued at USD 330.92 million.

Cumulatively, Papua's total exports in January-July 2018 were valued at USD 2,610.30 million or increased to 165.67 percent compared to the total exports from January to July 2017 which were valued at USD 982.55 million.

which was recorded at USD 1,834,800.

Cumulatively, the import value through ports in Gorontalo Province in January - July 2018 was USD 26,381 which decreased by 99.41 percent
