Aesthetics & Hairstyling (TXJ 2O) – open-level course; learning industry standards and aesthetics and hairstyling techniques.Construction & Design (TCJ 2O/TDJ 2O) –open-level course; learning Autocad and construction industry regulations and working with woodworking equipment.Hospitality & Tourism (TFJ 2O) – open-level course; learning the foundation of the foodservice industry and exploring career options in tourism and hospitality.Transportation Technology (TTJ 2O) – open-level course; learning safety in a tech shop, working with industry tools in the automotive industry.

Aesthetics & Hairstyling (TXJ 3E) – workplace course; learning industry standards and aesthetics and hairstyling techniques.Construction & Design (TCJ 3C/TDJ 3C) – college level course; working on designs in Autocad and using all woodworking equipment.Greening Technologies (THJ 3M) –college/university; learning greening strategies and implementing technology to protect the environment.Hospitality & Tourism (TFJ 3C) – college & workplace course; exploring all aspects of working in a commercial restaurant.Transportation Technology (TTJ 3E) – workplace course; working in a tech shop, and using industry tools and equipment in the automotive industry.

CONSTRUCTION

A Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) is a ministry –approved specialized

program that allows students to focus on learning within a specific economic

sector while in secondary school.

Students will take 4 construction and/or design courses in grades 11 &

12.Students will obtain certifications

used in the construction industry such as fall arrest.

Students will explore reach-ahead activities in the construction field

such as going to a work site and building a shed.
