BLACK IRON BISTRO

(pictured above) Take any corner of a garden or yard and reinvent a summer rendezvous for two. No plastic here, use your good china! A cheerful yellow bucket does double duty for your wine. Just add ice to one side for your white wine lover.

(pictured at right) A Gardener’s getaway equipped with all the necessities. Use galvanized accessories to create a cohesive vintage look. An old washtub turned over can be used as a charming plant stand for your favorite potted flowers. Vintage watering cans are everywhere. We found this one to go with the other galvanized goodies. Don’t forget your sunhat!

Make a splash with colorful beverages. You can play with the colors of summer and create a sunny beverage buffet right off your deck. An Orange Julep vintage plaque inspired this theme.

As seen in Country Living take your favorite glass vase and use it as a punch bowl. Think outside the OJ carton!

Display nature’s finest in a large glass pedestal vase -simple yet dramatic. Stack glassware for your guests to grab a drink during that heated game of croquet and add a simple potted plant for a boost of green.

Use a vintage galvanized washtub as an ice bucket for your favorite cold drinks out back. Two teak chairs flank each side and make a comfortable seating area for any party.

Carry a hint of orange over to your tabletop to enhance the sunny croquet party theme.

We did this with the sun-kissed stripes of red and orange napkins. Once again simple white dishes are the perfect staple. They are classic and let any color pop.

Food and flowers take the game on this table. White enamel buckets give a simple summer vibe and are functional at the same time.

Look for the unexpected. We found this adorable birds nest bowl with branch legs to hold our extra limes- tweet idea!

Summer is the perfect time to catch up with friends and enjoy casual dinners and BBQ’s on the back deck or patio. A simple black iron dining set can be transformed into an oasis for your guests. A lush garden backdrop is the perfect canvas for any theme you desire. Why not try one with coastal influences.

Make a statement by sticking a Patina sailboat weathervane into the garden. It will surprise your friends and make them feel like there is a coastline just around the corner.

This stone center iron fish brings the theme alive on the table. Just add some texture with bright colored basket weaved chargers and layer your practical white dishes with some seaside blues and sunny orange tones - an easy update for your Beach party.

Don’t forget the extra seating for those who like to watch the cook. A couple of vintage lawn chairs in bright blue with a mosaic table tie in the color theme and will give them a special garden side view.

Love the outdoors, but don’t particularly embrace all of God’s creatures that come with the summer heat? Thank goodness for sunrooms and screened porches!

Kick back and relax Al Fresco. Capture the essence of a lazy summer in the trees with a roof over your head! There is no better way to get out of the heat, but enjoy the wonders of nature’s ambiance by taking advantage of the added living space you can create with your favorite things.

Don’t be afraid to use unconventional furniture pieces in place of the everyday standard patio set. Mix and match! A cheerful settee reupholstered in

an outdoor fabric can portray a cozy cottage vibe and add comfort in the process. Throw a few summer pillows and try rolling up an Indian throw (shown here) or your favorite blanket to add interest and easy access for a late afternoon catnap.

Garden - themed décor helps bring the outdoors in. This iron tree cradles evening ambiance with lanterns and votive candleholders hanging from the branches.

An old, repurposed barn - wood church birdhouse calls natures name, and a tall basket of summer greens continues the palette inside from the trees. Vintage finds like the jack and ball

or the Factory Auto Paint thermometer are added comforts of summer days past.

A vintage custom made shutter cabinet is the perfect piece for a small window nook. Display a collection of white treasures or use as a bookcase for your summer reading. Open white wicker flower baskets let the light shine through without blocking too much of the view. After all, the sun is the shining star.

Add texture by using wicker, an outdoor rug, iron and rustic wood pieces to bring depth and warmth to the room. Vintage wicker rocker’s (pictured at bottom left) are comfortable and cozy for reading a book or adding more seating for a friend to stop by.

Classic white and mosaic roses make a simple, summer - cottage inspired breakfast or lunch sunroom.

Chunky handmade mosaic chargers add texture and romance to the classic white dish. A mosaic rose vase takes center stage, while iron baskets bring it all to the table. Hand painted rose glassware expresses the mood of a peaceful garden ice tea party (this is summer after all!).

What a great starting point to building a room around. So many colors to pull from, you can let your color guard down and work with them all! Indian blankets bring such a heart warming rustic feel to any room.

An easy way to bring a lot of color into your outdoor living space is to throw one or two beautifully handmade Indian rugs down under your feet. It is also a great way to ground a room and define that space from another functioning aspect of an open concept area.

Don’t forget your favorite lap lounger! Dogs love good design. We made this area of the sunroom just for them. Don’t you just love all the great iron flower stands out there? This one does triple the work. Tier one is just for the flowers, letting them soak up the sun. Tier two is a perfect place to stash doggie treats (if your pouch doesn’t catch on). Tier three is all about the main course. A simple stainless steel food and water bowl sits on this rack for daily use. We couldn’t help add a vintage enamel water bowl for extra liquids in the HOT dog days of summer!

Rustic elements are found here with a great pine farm table. Add earthy basket - weaved chargers or a chunky, glass bowl of corks collected from the many spaghetti dinners you have had with friends and family, and you’re on your way to a classic table scape.

Add a simple flower arrangement using a clear glass pitcher or vase and an old glass seltzer bottle for a touch of whimsy. Pulling together a grouping of all glass accessories can let the food take center stage, with all the colors of summer built right in.

Layering dishes and adding faux cabbage leafs as chargers brings a sense of fun to indoor dining. Large pasta bowls bring height to the table and give your guests plenty of room for seconds!

Creative Outdoor CANDLELIGHTLooking for a simple way to add ambiance to your outdoor living space? Try a collection of silvery finishes to build simple or dramatic candleholders for evenings on the deck. Any silver bowl can be spruced up with rustic elements, such as seashells or sand.

Nestle a smaller glass votive in the middle to create a layered look. Pedestal bowls work great to add different heights to your collection. Use a basket and a chair like we did to give you more options and interest. This peeling chair was repurposed as a plant stand and can even spare a hurricane votive.

A metal branch votive holder seemed small until placed inside a much larger glass pedestal. Make sure to find the perfect backdrop since the flickering light will mesmerize you.

Remember when you are creating an outdoor living room of your own, don't be afraid to think outside of the box.  Let your space speak volumes for your own personality and interests.  This is what brings it all together and makes your house a home unlike any other.  Celebrate you!
