Correctly understanding the conscience will cause all guilt, condemnation

 and inferiority to vanish!

INTRODUCTION

Conscience: The Voice of the Soul

Hebrews 9:14

“How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the

eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse

your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?”

– NKJ

1 Peter 3:21

“There is also an antitype which now saves us--baptism (not

the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good

conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus

Christ.” - NKJ

1 John 3:21

“Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have

confidence toward God.” – NKJ

he Christian conscience is one of the most overlooked

and misunderstood areas in Christianity. However, understanding the conscience is vital and important! The

Christian needs to correctly understand what the conscience is,how it works and what the

purified conscience gives theborn again man. Correctly

understanding the innerworkings of the conscience

and what the blood of Jesusdoes for the conscience(once applied) will cause all guilt, condemnation and inferiority

to vanish. This one revelation will cause your self-esteem to

skyrocket and create a boldness in you that only the Spirit ofGod can produce. As you begin to put these truths into practice

they will change your whole Christian experience. It is time tolet the blood of Jesus cleans our conscience! It is time to come

off the guilt trips of life! It is time to let our self-esteem rise tothe level God intended! It is time to arise and walk in the

newness of life the Spirit of God gives!

We must start relating to whatGod has done through the

new birth, not what the devil has done through the fall.

way, we find Adam running away from God instead of runningto Him. This was because Adam now identified himself with

sin. Not only did Adam’s bad conscience cause him to viewhimself incorrectly, it also deceived him into viewing God

incorrectly. Adam thought God would find fault with him justas he found fault with himself. He expected God to judge him

the way he judged himself. But God did not! God is a faithGod! He still saw His son. God did not condemn him. He

came into the garden that day knowing already that Adam hadfailed. Yet, God came to restore him. God brought with Him

the plan of Redemption!

A guilty conscience brings feelings of shame, guilt, condemnation and failure. Self-condemnation rules one’s life

when a man’s conscience judges himself incorrectly. As aresult man begins to experience all the feelings we now see

Adam experiencing. Subsequently man’s self esteem drops. It’s never been God’s will for man to possess low self-esteem

and feel like a nobody. God made you a somebody! He wantsyou to believe in yourself and be as bold as a lion! Remember,

through the new birth, we became the best God’s got! Webecame just like the Master, Jesus Christ (1 John 4:17)!

God does not want us to possess a sin consciousness.

He does not want us identifying with works of the devil.Failure, condemnation, guilt and shame are all hell inspired.

None of these are God given (James 1:13, 17). God does notpossess these qualities. Can you give away what you do not

possess? No! God does not want His children relating to oridentifying with the devil.

God wants His children torelate to and identify with

Himself. After all, we areHis children. As children

of God we are to possess

a righteous consciousness. We are to be aware and evermindful of our right standing with God. We are to find our

17

identity in our God given righteousness, holiness and faith. Inother words, we are to relate to and identify with Father God.

The Christian must see himself as a brand new creation nevertouched by sin! We must stop identifying ourselves with what

the devil has done through the fall and start identifying ourselves with what Christ has done through salvation.  After

all, which is greater: the devil’s fall or Christ’s salvation? Thenlet’s start living like it!
