"This note is to tell the Wildwood congregation that while I participate as a piano player, I am also a listener, and I so enjoy hearing your enthusiasm as you worship. Especially on Easter, the joy in your voices and faces was evident, and you gave a great "shout out" to the Lord with your worship. Sincerely, Jill Schmunk"
Flood Buckets: We have been collecting money for UMCOR towards flood buckets and we raised $164. Our last collection for Imagine No Malaria and UMCOR flood buckets will be Sunday, May 31.
Just a reminder that on the first Sunday of each month we will take a few minutes to hold a brief all church meeting with whatever members are available. This gives us a chance to
report on the progress of various projects or tasks, to ask for help as
needed, to mention things of concern since the last meeting, etc.

June 1: Eggroll sale HIGHLAND UMC June 10: Admin. council at 6:30 PM June 14, 21, 28: Hmong language worship at 11:00
Thank You: to the many people who helped with our church clean-up on May 2. The church interior was made spic and span, the yard was raked and then mowed, the garden was weeded, shrubs pruned, and oh, did the chain saw get a work-out! There will certainly be wood for fire-side gatherings this summer. A wonderful lunchtime fellowship was enjoyed by all of the workers.
Eggroll Sale: orders should be picked up at the church between 10:00 and 3:00 on Monday, June 1st. Thank you to the Hmong members for all of their hard work.
Conferences: Pastor David will be attending the WI Annual Conference June 12-15 in Middleton and will also be joining other Hmong pastors and their spouses June 26-28 for a national confer-ence being held at Green Lake. Our prayers go with him.
Neighbor to Neighbor Community Garden: Compost has been delivered and planting time is here, so whenever the weather cooperates, gardeners will be busy working and hoping for a productive 2015 growing season. Volunteers are welcome, so talk to Mary or Marilyn to see how you can help. The food pantries really appreciate the produce that we donate.
I Care Fund: The June and July I Care Fund will go to Fill a Back Pack Fill a Need (FABFAN) to provide school supplies for needy children.
Road Construction: is supposed to begin in June, so when the street gets blocked off, we will need to park at the back of the church and use the back entrance.
Lawn Care: Thank you to those who have signed up to do lawn mowing and trimming this sum-mer. Please check the sheet to see if there are any times still available. See Randy if you have questions.

A Note From the Finance Team: Update on Financial Situation
The Finance Committee is committed to being as transparent as possible and our goal is to keep you, the members, as up to date as possible. After reviewing our income and expenditures at our monthly meetings, it has shown that we have been short by approximately $1,800 per month. We have looked at different options, with one of them being the use of a Line of Credit. But the committee members feel this is just a temporary fix. We also started to discuss some long range financial planning. These topics will continue to be discussed but the short term answer was to ensure that you, as a congregation, are aware of where we stand financially. As of now, we have been able to pay our commitments but if income does not increase over the coming months, we will need to come up with some additional solutions.
A few of the options that were discussed and will be implemented are:
Suspend sending in our Connectional Giving for the next 3 months to ensure some financial stability. The exception is if someone specifically directs their donation to go to Connectional Giving, we will do so. The intent and hope is that we will be able to still meet our 80% goal by the end of the year with a “catch up” plan.
The Brat Fry and any other general fundraising events donations will be placed in the general fund instead of going to connectional giving.
We will post our average monthly bills in the Gathering Room for all members to see.
Our mortgage payment is $1,590. This is down from about $1,970 that is was before our re-finance, our practice was to pay $1,790 this year, or split the difference. As of March we have ceased paying the additional $200.
Members can also help by having weekly/monthly offerings done as an auto deposit. Some mem-bers have asked how they can ensure their offering is at the church when they are out of town. It’s a simple process. Just pick up a form from the church office and take it to your bank. Tell them how much you want to have deposited to the church and it will be done. It’s slick as snot!
The Finance Committee will continue to look at and review the finances and strategize to get back on track. You might think that $1,800 seems like a lot of money but in reality it is an obtainable goal. If you have any questions, please feel free to call any of the Finance Committee members. God Bless!

On the 3rd Sunday of the month, each committee will be invited to share their current activities at the end of worship. Here are the updates that were given on May 17th:
Board of Trustees: the items that were in the red shed are for sale, they are in the parsonage garage if you want to view/purchase. Proceeds from the sale of the shed and contents will go towards purchasing a new grill. We will take of-fers until June 8. Finance: Pastor Angie let the congregation know that we are running about $1800/month short in paying our monthly obligations.

We gather together to ask the Lord’s blessing, … beside us to guide us, our God with us joining, … thy name be ever praised! …. —We Gather Together Hebrews 10: 24-25 And let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good deeds, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching. You are invited! That is such a wonderful phrase to hear, isn’t it? Often we read it on a card or an email—followed by a date, time, and reason for celebration. And then we run to the calendar to see if we can make it...at least I do! Receiving an invitation to a gathering affirms that you are included, confirms a relationship status, and welcomes you to be joyous with others. We are all invited to be disciples of Jesus Christ. Most likely you won’t find a card in your mailbox or a text on your phone with a date and time to join Him, but you are invited. The invitation comes from the text of his life, the Gospel stories. When Jesus invited the women to speak, the lame to walk, the priest to question, the disciples to go, He was inviting us too! Matthew 18:20 “For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them.” I believe that God is always with us, that we are never alone, but that making the invitation for God to join us is especially welcoming. I guess for me, inviting God into our time together is like saying: We know that you are always here, but know that we want you here, we are thinking about you! Does that make sense? Sometimes we become complacent or unaware of the gift that one’s pres-ence really is; acknowledging the effort of presence can be a gift in return. I invite you to join us for a Sunday Fun Day on Sunday, June 21 at 4 p.m. in the backyard. The grill will be hot and the campfire will be lit—bring your chair, food to share, and a happy heart! Hope to see you there! --Pastor Angie
