Connie's BBQ, Hot Dogs and Burgers Stockton, Missouri I'm looking for help with startup costs of my BBQ and Hotdog Stand. Summary Hello, my name is Connie Robinson. I live in Illinois just across the Mississippi River from St. Louis Mo. Originally I wanted to buy a food truck but decided that a food truck was a pretty expensive initial investment for someone who was just beginning in the food business. I already have a spot to park my cart, I have it pre-approved by the Illinois Department of Health, and I am in the process of getting city approval and all the permits I need from my local municipality. Funding is the last piece of the puzzle. I don't have the upfront cash to buy a cart and will probably have to take out a loan. I could certainly use any funding help I can get. Thanks in advance, Connie Location I will be located on an Ace Hardware Parking lot between Ace Hardware, McDonalds and a liquor store. There is also a Dry Cleaners, A Chinese restaurant, a Dollar General Store, A Beauty Shop and a Pizza Delivery Chain in the complex. The owner of the hardware store is very generous and is providing me with the best visibility he can free of charge for the first six months. Menu BBQ Pork, BBQ Chicken, Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, Brats, Cole Slaw, Baked Beans, Lemonade, Canned Soda, Bottled Water Marketing Strategy I will use social media, such as Facebook and Twitter, and I will be positioned in the heart of town and will use signage around my cart and bright colors to promote my brand. Financial Plan My food cart will provide the startup expenses for me to expand my business and for me to move into catering and events and to someday buy a food truck or a concession trailer. I am keeping expenses as low as possible initially so I can move forward without too much debt. Management I'm on my own with this project, but I'm getting help when I need it from City or County organizations and from the Small Business Administration.
