Dear Friends:

I am so pleased and I hope you are too

regarding our 150th

Anniversary Celebraon. It was a great

day. So many friends came for worship, a tasty meal and good

memories of our past that have shaped our present. Thank you

for aending and a special thanks to our 150th Anniversary

Commiee. They worked hard and found wonderful details and

memorabilia that mean so much to our members (see p. 3)

We are coming to the 'me of year when our Church

Council begins to look at who is on and who is coming off the

sub-commiees: Trustees, Finance, SPRC (Staff Parish), and Lay

Development/Nomina'ons. We have several leaders on our

Hospitality/Worship Host team who want to par'cipate, but

need to pass along the leadership and coordina'ng role. There

are openings with our Media team that makes worship sound

and look good. What would we do without them? Sunday

school and youth leaders along with their helpers are preparing

for a fun and exci'ng Fall and Winter season. Every eight weeks

it’s our turn to staff Mary Martha Thri7 Store and volunteers are

always welcome. Before we know it, Adopt-A-Family Back-to–

School and Christmas giving will be upon us.

There are so many ways to serve Christ and our commu-

nity at Wentzville UMC. I ask you to prayerfully consider how

you might par'cipate in serving Christ in the coming weeks and

months. It is more about saying “Yes” to the Holy Spirit and

being willing, than it is to meet qualifica'ons. We are uniquely

gi7ed with God’s grace and talents. I encourage each of us to

say “Yes I can” when the call or opportunity comes.

God bless us all,
