The power cable for highest needs

The RADOX® WIND cable withstands the harshest environ-mental conditions, but also the extreme torsion twists in a wind turbine. Thus, this power cable convinces with its long life cycle that complies with the life cycle of a wind turbine. As a result the maintenance costs can be significantly reduced and re-placement costs for new power cables are omitted.

Connections in the wind turbine

Between the nacelle and the control unit in the bottom of the tower pre-configurated cable systems from HUBER+SUHNER are installed for monitoring and control functions. Fiber optic cables offer the big advantage that they do not generate elec-tro-magnetic influences affecting the monitoring and control functions within the tower cabling between generator and medium voltage cables. Wind turbine manufacturer draw profit with customised fiber optic cabling systems from one hand that are delivered from HUBER+SUHNER as a «plug and play» system. The portfolio includes robust cable constructions and fiber management systems with high safety requirements as well as a long life cycle.

Connections in wind parks

Today, in wind parks up to 100 wind turbines are installed. In an efficient wind park management many different data are recorded and have to be transmitted into a control center. HUBER+SUHNER solutions enable the network of various wind turbines, wired or wireless. The offer covers fiber optic components like outdoor cables, splice cassettes and patch cables for wired connections but also antennas, lightning pro-tectors and jumper cables for wireless networks, robust cable constructions and fiber management systems with high safety needs and a long life cycle.
