Connections between

Daniel and RevelationJoshua L. Pappas

The books of Daniel and Revelation have striking

similarities. One would find it difficult to understand

Revelation fully without Daniel. This is no mere

coincidence. In fact, there is no symbol in Revelation

without an Old Testament precedent. The Holy Spirit

intends us to use the Old Testament as our means of

understanding Revelation.

Daniel prophesied about the Roman Empire (Daniel 2:37-40). John prophesied during the era of the Roman Empire and about events of that time (Revelation

1:1, 3, Chapters 2-3, 22:10).
