CHVI
The CHVI Alliance is a Canadian network that brings together leading researchers from the public and private sectors, as well as the international community, to develop innovative solutions to the challenges facing HIV vaccine development.
The Alliance Coordinating Office (ACO) supports the Alliance and the Advisory Board, focusing on building and sustaining the Alliance, advising the Government of Canada and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation on research gaps, prospecting innovative proposals to respond to identified gaps and promoting synergy among Alliance members.

Presentation Objectives
• Communities of Practice (CoP) are:groups “of people who share a concern, a set of problems, or a passion about a topic, and who deepen their knowledge and expertise in this area by interacting on an on-going basis” (Wenger, McDermott, & Snyder, 2002, p.4).
• Virtual Communities of Practice (VCoP), without excluding F2F rely primarily on Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) to connect their members
What is a Virtual Community?
