Lions Pride Receives One Million Dollar Bequest
The Lions Pride Endowment Fund of WI, Inc. gratefully announces a gift of one
million dollars from the DuWayne Carl estate. It is the largest gift Lions Pride
has received.
DuWayne "Dewey" Carl was the President and CEO of Lions Pride Endowment
Fund of Wisconsin, Inc., serving as chairman of the LPEF Board and devoting
countless hours to promoting the organization in its endeavors to secure the
legacy of service that began with Lion Ray Hempel and his vision.
With his passing, the Lions Pride Endowment Fund received his generous gift.
Chairman Dewey lived with these simple rules of giving:
1. Support the causes that are important to you
2. Lead by example
3. Share your blessings with others
4. Never stop in pursuit of your goal/vision
As a Safari Society Member, Chairman Dewey included the Lions Pride Endowment Fund of
Wisconsin, Inc. in his estate planning and encouraged others to do as he did and include Lions
Pride in their planning.
Safari Society Brochures are available from the Lions Pride Office call for your copy.
The LPEF Board and staff always admired his passion, integrity & his optimism. He believed
in making a difference and that we are all put on this earth for a purpose. Dewey touched many
lives and exemplified a truthful path to living a joyful and purposeful life; for that reason his
legacy lives on.
THE PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE. . .
Dear Friends,
Thank you for your gift(s) to Lions Pride Endowment
Fund. Whether your gift was large or small, one time or a series of gifts,
you can be confident that your support to Lions Pride is making a
difference in people’s lives. The Lions Pride’s staff and board are
committed to effectively managing your investment to meet peoples’
needs in the best possible way. Your gift(s) support Lions Camp and
the other statewide projects of the Wisconsin Lions Foundation today
and in the future.
The Lions Pride Board and staff share your commitment to help the
people who are and will be “reached, touched and have their lives
improved” through your donations. Together, we can be thankful we
can support our Lions Camp for children with special needs to enjoy, to
supplying hearing aids to people in need, to see that kids receive vision
screening and can be identified and referred to professionals for
evaluation, to assist in educating and creating awareness about diabetes,
and to witness lives change because their vision was improved through
the eyeglass recycling program. Your gifts play an important part in
making sure these projects can benefit people in our communities not
just today but far into the future.
Lions Pride is committed to putting your donations/gift(s) to work to
improve the lives of people not only this year but for years to come.
I have been impressed with the commitment and dedication of the
Directors on the Lions Pride Board. Each director is laser focused on
managing and investing your gift(s) in the best possible way. Since last
year at this time, the LPEF Board made a decision to employ Johnson
Bank Wealth Management to invest your gifts/donations. The Johnson
Bank Wealth Management Team has and continues to demonstrate a
genuine commitment to the goals of the Lions Pride Endowment
Fund.
On behalf of all the people, whose needs are being met or could be met,
I invite you to consider another gift to the Lions Pride Endowment Fund
continuing your generosity and support. You truly are “Today’s Help
and Tomorrow’s Hope”.
Thank you again! You, the Lions Pride Directors and staff are working
together to improve lives.
Together in Service,
PCC Sam Kochel

Some, but not all blogs allow comments; this elevates the blog from a monologue to a conversation with a social interaction found in today's social media like Facebook and Twitter, but more focused.
The Lions Pride Endowment Fund blog isn’t just about Lions Pride. We strive to make each post informative, current, interesting and sometimes a little humorous.

8th Annual
We were proud to host the 8th Annual Open Road Harley Davidson Friendship 100 riders on their July 2017 visit to Lions Camp.
The Friendship 100 derives its name from
the 100 mile ride to Lions Camp from Open Road Harley-Davidson in Fond du Lac and each rider donates or raises $100 to participate.
Lions Camp is a rare jewel that many people do not know exists and many Lions have never visited. Can you imagine non-Lions donating $100 each for the chance to visit YOUR Camp? Well they did, and are already planning next year’s ride. To date the Friendship 100 riders donated over $31,000, endowing
two camper spots in perpetuity.
Lions Pride Sporting Clay Shoots have raised over $302,000
