CONNECTING DOMOTICA When connecting domotica, an optocoupler is utilized. Physically, no voltage will come out, due to a required galvanic isolation between the filter and the to be connected domotica and/or other equipment/indicators. Due to this required galvanic isolation, a power supply will need to be connected from the outside (as seen from the outside, the optocoupler is a transistor with an open collector). The voltage of this power supply can be at maximum 80VDC. Maximum current that can be drawn is 50mA. The power supply will need to be connected to pin 1 (EXT_VCC) and pin 3 (EXT_GND) of the connector.

P1 is the connector, which you see in the lid. The rest of the electronics are inside the filter and are shown in the figure below.

Connections:

• Pin 1: the VCC of an external power supply connection (80VDC max.)

• Pin 2: the to be used LED or something similar to GND

• Pin 3: the GND of an external power supply connection.

Example: When taking a LED as an example, you should be able to apply the following:

• EXT_VCC = 5VDC

• EXT_GND = 0V

Type of connector:

• Manufacturer: Phoenix Contact

• Partno.: MC 1,5/ 3-ST-3,81 (alternative partno.: 1803581)
