To set up a Wiegand filter you will need to use the Net2 Server configuration utility. Once completed, set the reader ‘Token data fomat’ in Net2 to ‘Wiegand Custom’.

The Futronic reader is connected via RS232 to a Wiegand output module, which is then wired into the Net2 ACU as below:

The reader requires the ACU to control the LED’s.

To configure the ACU LED setting, open the Net2 server configuration utility and on the ‘General’ tab, check the ‘Display reader LED’s in OEM style’ box.

If the option is not available, please contact Technical support for further advice.

Paxton advise checking for the correct site code with the Wiegand filter to provide a higher level of security. To determine how this may be done see: AN1010 - Configuring custom Wiegand formats < http://paxton.info/990 >

Futronic software does not install correctly using v4.28 due to SQL 2005 / SQL 2008 differences.

The FS21 reader can be used to add users locally at the reader, however this makes keeping track of user IDs difficult. Once users are enrolled, the User ID must be added as the token number for the user in Net2. Futronic reader illuminates and beeps upon finger print presentation, green LED for access granted, red LED for access denied / unknown finger print. Token numbers returned are the user IDs programmed on the reader or in the Futronic software.
