Reliable functions, reliable radio connections

●Re-Routing technology● CONNECT Radio System finds new ways of transmitting the signal

● Sometimes it leads to the target receiver director it is forwarded via another receiver

● All AC powered devices act’s as a router for the signal

Without re-routing technology With re-routing technology

Always in dialogue

●Transmitter and receiver ● They are in dialogue for optimal transmission

of the radio signal

● The receiver sends a response when it has received the signal from transmitter

● If the reception acknowledgement is missing once (e.g. due to a reflective wall), the CONNECT Radio System automatically searches for another way to transmit the radio signal to the receiver

● For example, via another radio receiver in an adjacent room that can forward the signal to the targeted receiver

Z-wave: established worldwide

●Z-wave: Basis of the CONNECT Radio System● Interference-free: frequency 868 MHz

● Specially reserved for short-distance radio

● No interference from other control, identification and positioning systems and audio devices transmitting in parallel

Z-wave: established worldwide

● CONNECT transmits signals only when a radio transmitter is actuated (sensor network)

● Radio transmission capacity is negligible in comparison to:

●wireless DECT mobile telephones

●mobile phones

●WLAN systems

● Completely save in terms of building biology

● Transmission capacity of DECT mobile telephones and mobile phones is up to 10.000 times higher than that of the CONNECT Radio System

Configuration method

●There are two configuration methods ● Easy CONNECT

●To connect up to five devices located close together (e.g. in one room). Configuration is carried out manually without any tools.

● CONNECT radio configurator

●For systems between different rooms with up to 100 devices and extensive functions (scenes, timers, individual key assignment) and much more.

Quick and easy installation

●CONNECT Radio System push-buttons can be quickly installed where there is no 230 V line.

● Stuck onto glass or screwed into the wall without flush-mounted box.

● Existing installations expanded by using a radio transmitter

Move – mobile switching

●Move is for anyone who wants to be even more flexible.

● The little round radio push-button can be easily removed from its respective wall bracket and used as a radio remote control.

● Snap it back into the frame when you’re done.

● Or screw it alone to any place on the wall you like.

Application example

Kitchen: Turn on the lights

●Situation● A new kitchen with more options for light sources for convenient cooking and

atmospheric indirect light for feeling comfortable. The control for these new light sources can easily be retrofitted with radio push-buttons and receivers.

Application example

Kitchen: Turn on the lights

●The Schneider Electric solution

Exchange the existing 1-gang frame to a 3-gang frame, so two radio push-buttons can be added.

The already existing conventional switch stays in the new frame for switching the ceiling light on and off.

A CONNECT radio push-button, 2-gang linked to a radio receiver, switches the newlamps beneath the cupboard: one switch for each of the two lights. And at last a CONNECT radio push-button, 1-gang linked to a universal dimmer radio receiver, controls the lamps for indirect light. They can be dimmed to create an atmospheric mood of light.

Application example

Living room: Watching TV

●Situation● Controlling the light and shutters via radio frequency with a remote control

doesn‘t mean one more remote control cluttering the living room table. In fact, it means the opposite: the CONNECT remote control works with TV sets and DVD players as well!

Page 20: CONNECT Radio System

Application example

Living room: Watching TV

●The Schneider Electric solution

The radio universal remote control replaces all the remote controls for the TV set and DVD player as well as it takes control of all CONNECT radio receivers implemented in the living room. Individual scenes stored on it create the perfect surrounding.

To control the shutters via radio frequency with the remote control, only one radio receiver needs to be installed at the shutter.

Equally easy is integrating the dimmable ceiling light into the radio system: a radio receiverinstalled in the dimmer switch makes the light comfortably adjustable with the remote control.

Application example

Bedroom: Comfort to dream of

●Situation● The only light switch in the bedroom is of course beside the door.

Not exactly convenient.

● It would be so much simpler to be able to dim or switch off the ceiling light directly from the bed.

Page 22: CONNECT Radio System

Application example

Bedroom: Comfort to dream of

●The Schneider Electric solution

Replace the switch for the ceiling light with a CONNECT radio sensor cover plus flush-mounted insert - the ceiling lamp is integrated in the radio system.

To be able to switch off the ceiling light comfortably from the bed, attach another CONNECT radio push-button beside the bed.

The standard lamp in the bedroom can also be activated from the bed: A CONNECT radio plug adapter with radio receiver is added as an adapter between the SCHUKO socket-outletand the standard lamp. Finished.

Application example

Outdoors: Light up the darkness

●Situation● Provide your customers with automatic switching of light outdoors. ● Choose between time, light level and movement control or make a smart

combination of these parameters.

Page 24: CONNECT Radio System

Schneider Electric 24- Division - Name – Date

Application example

Outdoors: Light up the darkness

●The Schneider Electric solution

Install the CONNECT Argus movement detector and connect it to the radio receiver to light up outdoor lighting when it gets dark.

Movements outside are recognised by the CONNECT Argus movement detector, which activates one or more radio receivers to light up the darkness and, if requested, even turn on lights inside the house.

Set a certain time when lights are supposed to turn on or off automatically by using a time switch linked to the CONNECT RF transmitter. This communicates wirelessly with the selected radio receivers to switch.
