Our theme for this TVET CONGRESS is Strenghtening TVET for ASEAN Integration. This Congress aims to strengthen and improve the effectiveness and relevance of technical vocational education and training programs towards global competitiveness. It will also serve as a venue for a regional dialogue among key players in the TVET sector on the latest developments and policy decisions that have direct impact on the delivery of training and education in the ASEAN region. We will now move on to the second part of our Congress, but there are slight changes in the program.We will listen first to the presentation on the Readiness to K-12 as our Resource Speaker needs to be in Laguna by 2:00pm today for a very equally important activity which demands her presence. We all know K-12 is the most significant education reform that we are now facing. Whether we like it or not, we have to know what are its social and economic effects and how they will impact on us personally and as members of the TVET sector. Thats why we came up with our Congress theme: Strengthening TVET for ASEAN Integration. 11. Sana maulit po muli.We will now proceed to another highlight of our 2nd CAlabarzon TVET Congress, the dialogue between and among the Department Education 4A represented by Regional Director Dr. Diosdado San Antonio, Asst Regional Director Beth Torno and the various Division School Superintendents,DIALOGUE:MATCHING AND MAPPING OF SENIOR HIGH SCHOOLS WITH TVIs

our private and public technical vocational institutions and our TESDA 4A officials.The focused dialogue serves as a forum to discuss specific partnership issues and concerns on K-12 implementation. Please be informed that a pre-Conference meeting was held last August 15 with Dep Ed 4A, TESDA and RTVEA to formulate general partnership guidelines. Afterwards, a smallgroup consultation was held with private TVIs to identify specific operational issues.For a more structured dialogue, the participants will be grouped by province. DIALOGUE MECHANICS

The Dep Ed Division School Superintendents will join their respective provinces. A draft memorandum of agreement stating the general partnership agreements and specific responsibilities of Senior High School and TVI partner will serve as a working document for discussion of issues and concerns. The group may include other areas of partnership that are not covered by the draft MOA. The TESDA Provincial Directors will facilitate the dialogues.Encoders are assigned per group to document the agreements.Final group outputs will be signed by theTVI association president, Dep Ed School Superintendent and TESDA Provincial Director.Copies of the signed agreements will be distributed at the end of the Congress.
