In Parshat Kedoshim, the Torah instructs us for the second time not to steal. The first such directive is found in the Aseret Hadibrot. There is a striking difference, however, between what appears to be two identical commandments. In our Parsha, the words are spelled in the plural, whereas in the Aseret Hadibrot the words appear as singular. Rashi explains that the Aseret Hadibrot are speaking to the prohibition of kidnapping people, while here the Torah is
WEB DVAR with Rabbi Zwickler—CHECK IT OUT! Rabbi’s Message:
prohibiting the stealing of money. The Ibn Ezra takes a different approach and suggests that the plural usage here teaches us that if someone witnesses a person stealing and says nothing, he too is considered to be a thief. The Torah is full of ethical messages and this one is very practical: while it is easier to say nothing, Hashem expects us to speak up when we witness an injustice committed before our eyes. This is an important
message to internalize and share with our families.
—I will be travelling to Israel this week for a family simcha, and am looking forward to seeing our young men and women learning there, as well as members of the Shul who have made aliyah.
—Please contact Rabbi Sharbat for any matters that are urgent or time-sensitive.
“The Rav in Thought and Deed” takes place in the Main Shul 5 minutes after the 9:15 AM minyan concludes. We utilize the Koren/Rabbi Soloveitchik edition siddur to gain insight into the specifics of our regular prayers based on the insights of Rabbi Soloveitchik. The session lasts approximately 5-7 minutes.

UPDATE ON THE JITNEY
The town has approved the funding for a new jitney/shuttle to serve our
community but we are at a pivotal point in the process.
Tuesday night, May 9th, at 7 pm, the Town Council Budget meeting will take place in the Town Council Chambers in the Municipal Building at 66 Main St., on the ground floor. Joe Krakoviak, the town council President slotted our group "SHARP" (Shuttle Advocates For Redwood & Pleasantdale) for a five-minute presentation to discuss and appeal to the other Town Council mem-bers. Once the decision is "inked" by the administration, we will be powerless
to change or amend it.
Please make every effort to come out on Tuesday evening at 7 pm, and have your voices heard by the town council members. We need an full chamber at the start of the meeting to show that we are serious about having a say in a service that will benefit not only commuters, but all tax-paying
homeowners of Redwood & Pleasantdale!
