From all of us at Career Services, congratulations on your upcoming graduation! If
you do not currently know what your next step will be or have a job lined up, we have
an event for you, Graduating – Just Got Easier!
There are many opportunities awaiting you in the post-college world, and Career
Services is here for you as you start exploring them. We want you all to remember
that our services are FREE for alumni to use!
We will be hosting Graduating – Just Got Easier in conjunction with the Alumni
Association on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 from 1:30 to 5:00 p.m. in the Career
Services Library (LBJ 5th Floor, 5-7.1). Bring a hard copy of your resume to
attend! Topics to be covered include:
· Overview of online Career Services’ resources
· How to get the most out of LinkedIn
· Tips on preparing for an interview and landing the job
· Alumni Association benefits
· One-on-one complimentary resume critiquing sessions (3 to 5p.m.)
Career Services is here to help you get answers. Check out our Graduating Students
webpage to learn more about our services, as well as hot career topics for graduates.
Then schedule an appointment with a Career Counselor or Career Advisor to learn
more about job search strategies, interviews, career exploration or resumes and
cover letters by calling our office at 512.245.2645. You can also stop by during
walk-in hours, 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday and 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. on
Wednesday and Thursday.
In support of National Career Development Month, our office’s goal is to critique
1,000 resumes in November. If you do not want to wait until December to start on your
resume, setup an appointment today to have your resume reviewed!

The Collegiate Entrepreneurs’ Organization will soon be accepting
membership applications for spring ‘14.
Meetings are held every Tuesday, 5:00-6:00 PM, to provide assistance
